Vehicle Detail

1913 Ford Model T “C Cab” Panel Delivery History - Some of the most incredible Fords are those that were built in the Brass Era (1905-1914). Ford did not produce trucks until 1925, but in 1913 a buyer could purchase the complete chassis and then take it to a coach company of their choice for the body. This 1913 Ford Model T “C Cab” Panel Delivery or Light Delivery Car is nick-named the "C-Cab" because of its distinctively shaped roof and door opening over and around the cab. It was the lightest, most powerful and most economical delivery car sold back in the day. It cost considerably less to buy and operate than a team of horses with a wagon; it covered more territory and turned in a 28-foot circle. It carried 750 pounds of merchandise with convenience and speed. This 1913 C-Cab is, without a doubt, a stunning example of craftsmanship and a testament to the beauty of Brass Era automobiles. It is a completely restored original that had its rotting wood body replaced in the 1980’s. For ease of starting, a Model T engine manufactured in 1921 with an electric starter was installed at that time. It had been on display in a museum setting from the 1980's until 2013 and since then in a heated garage. It has not been in the rain since at least before the 1980's, if ever. The woodworking craftsmanship is stunning as you can see in the pictures. A particularly unique aspect of the woodworking is the domed wooden roof of the cab which curves both front-to-back and side-to-side. This C cab is fitted with a San Francisco-style trolley bell which has been great for parades, shows and all around driving. It is a real head-turner. It's not perfect, with small paint blemishes here and there, but it shows very well and is a prize winner. The varnished oak woodwork is pretty much flawless. It starts easily in all weather. It is located in southeastern Connecticut and is being sold on a Connecticut Bill of Sale. On Apr-29-17 at 06:21:13 PDT, seller added the following information: A few odds and ends that I thought I'd add. Here is a link to a video that shows you how to start this "C" Cab as well as a walk-around tour of it's features. https://youtu.be/MTeGA2hNW-w The Carburetor is a new rebuilt Holly NH by Russ Potter. The plugs are all new Champion X - the original style. There is a gas shut-off valve at the carburetor that you can see in the video. Any questions or want more pictures or videos, just message me. Reason for sale...I have 7 Model T's in my "fleet" and I can't drive them all nearly enough and I can only show them one at a time! Time to let this one go to it's next good home. Someone is going to get a really nice "C" cab. Mechanically it runs wonderfully, but even better is the woodworking craftsmanship of the body! It's not prefect, but it's really special! Thanks for looking.
