This low mileage (83,977 actual miles) roadster is a very rare and unique automobile. Of the 44,028 Firebird Trans Ams built in 1985, there were less than 600 roadsters made, this car being production #340. The conversions on these cars were done by a company called Auto Forms Engineering out of Elkhart, Indiana, and were explicitly sanctioned by General Motors. They could only be ordered through Pontiac dealers and only delivered back to Pontiac dealers. Customers paid up to $14,000 for this convertible option, a considerable sum in 1985 for an option, which perhaps explains why so few of them were made. The transformations done on these cars turned what was already a visually stunning car into a truly timeless work of art.
