Vehicle Detail
We are selling my wife's Volvo that she loves so much and did not want to let go..until she got in a new one.... 2006 Volvo XC90 with 140k miles and drives great! This car still drives like it is new but will need repairs to get back safely on the road! I do not sell cars on ebay but we figured we would try it for the first time. Volvo was purchased for @ $7,700 in 2014 with 121k miles. The inside and outside will need a good cleaning. This has the custom fit mats that cost $250.00, they just can be cleaned with soap and water, super nice mats. As you can see on my feedback I am an honest seller so you can have faith that what I tell you is the truth about this Volvo! What I list as issues here can all be fixed but we chose not to fix a few just for the simple fact the car is 11 years old. Most of the comfort items, Volvo wanted to much to fix so we just learned to live without them... Issues: The "brake failure" light came on 2/1/17 and went back off the next day before we could get the car serviced. The light came back on 2/5/17 and we could notice an issue when applying the brakes but we still drove the car back and forth to work with no issues. I would suspect that there is a broken pad or something in the front as the car pull slightly to the left when you apply the brakes hard. nothing that would cause you to lose control of the car, very slight pull at times. I noticed on 2/6/17 that the odometer was no longer tracking miles so since 2/1 or 2/5 no mileage has accumulated (that i can see anyway). I can tell you that we have driven less than 50 miles since this has happened and I am sure this is way less but we will say 50 miles to be 100% sure. We have not driven the car since 2/6/17 and is in our driveway. Sunroof - this will not open anymore. I opened it last October and it would not close, the motor worked but it was stuck past the stop point and Volvo stated the tracks needed replaced with an assembly of some kind and wanted over $900.00 to fix or $250.00 to manually close it, so we chose that option. there are no leaks or fear that it will fly off the top of your car, just doesn't work. AC - the front AC doesn't work but when you press the dual climate control for rear AC, it blows out ice cold air. Not sure on why the front doesn't get cold as this just stopped working in November (we live in VA). Passenger window - works fine but you have to stop the window just before the top in auto up mode or the window will go back down. I researched this and this is common problem in the 2006 model. The window works fine, just a small bother at times. Burning oil - As I stated, the engine runs strong, so strong they stopped making the V5 as it was to good and would cause less new sales (look it up). When we purchased the car we noticed oil underneath the car, not on the ground but on the skid plate and the owner stated the main rear oil seal was replaced. I can tell you that not one drop of oil has ended up on our garage floor but the car but the Volvo is down a quart everytime we change the oil so some burning is happening. Sticking of hood and rear tailgate - to open the hood to view the engine it is not as easy as pulling the lever, you have to play with it to get it open but once open you can close it and it sticks no problem. The rear tailgate latch is also sticking but once you push it back in to place it is fine. Key - all the remote functions to lock and unlock the car work as well as the safety light feature work. the Key housing is lose so the key will not stay out all the time, just a cosmetic issue. Repairs done to car since we have owned Volvo:1- Oil pan was removed and blasted and as we noticed some poor engine performance. Volvo stated there was some oil sludge build up and oil pan needed cleaned $7502- as stated above the sun roof repair $2503 - 2 new rotors and beleive it was a ball joint/strut on the front end $11504 - regular oil changes and inspection I could list all of the good items as well but if you are looking for a Volvo, you already know them. The dealer offerd us $1,700 on trade in and I see KBB has this car in fair condition for twice that but did not want to give him my car. We want to sell this for $2,250 and will not concider anything less as this is good deal. any questions please ask!
