Please scroll down below this description for tons of detailed pics of the bike. Depending on your internet speed, they may take a while to load. We have the listing set up to accept bids only from US bidders in an effort to prevent scammers from ruining the auction. If you are a legitimate bidder outside of the US and you have a way to have the bike picked up at our location without it being crated, e-mail Chris at chris@motoworkschicago.com. Provide him with your ebay ID and confirm that you can arrange international shipping and have the bike picked up uncrated at our location in Chicago, and he will add you to the list that allows you to bid. This is a complete R100RS that needs some love. It was sitting in a damp basement for many years which did not do its cosmetics any favors. There is plenty of surface rust and oxidation on the aluminum, but nothing is rotted out. The tank has some minor rust inside but is solid. The bodywork is incredibly straight and the paint looks nice with just some minor scratches. We have not tried to get the bike running. We have only confirmed that the engine does turn by putting it in gear and turning the rear wheel by hand. We turned it in fifth gear to determine that it turns smoothly all the way through an engine cycle. And we turned it in first gear to determine that is has good compression, which it does. The brakes were all locked up when we bought it and we loosened the caliper mounting bolts to get the bike to roll, so the brakes are currently inoperable. The tires do not hold air for very long. This bike will need a thorough mechanical rehab to get it back on the road but it has lots of potential. These bikes are truly a joy to ride. There are 102 pictures below detailing the condition of the bike. Please look at all of them carefully and ask any questions you have before bidding. You can call Chris at 773-474-1744, e-mail him at chris@motoworkschicago.com, or contact him through ebay. It's located at Motoworks in the city of Chicago. If you are local and would like to see it in person, please call 773-474-1744 to set up an appointment. Shipping a motorcycle can be expensive, so be sure to look into it before bidding. The zip code is 60608 to help in figuring shipping. Our recommendation for a great shipper is Danny at D&K Services. He can be reached at 973-534-7823. If you are an Illinois resident, we must process the title application for you (it is the same cost as if you bought it from a private party). If you are an Illinois resident or a resident of any of the states that reciprocate with Illinois on vehicle tax, we must collect sales tax on the vehicle based on the tax rate of your state (Arizona: 5.6%, California: 6.25%, Florida: 6%, Hawaii: 4%, Indiana: 6.25%, Massachusetts: 6.25%, Michigan: 6%, South Carolina: 5%). If you are not an Illinois resident, we must issue a $10 temporary license plate. No matter what state you live in, we have a documentation fee of $165. Winning bidder picks up in Chicago or arranges for/pays for all shipping/crating. We can deliver it locally for $1.50 per mile round trip ($20 minimum). $500 deposit via PayPal due within 24 hours of auction close. Remainder via one of the standard payment methods within seven days. No PayPal for remainder unless you contact us first. The bike is to be picked up within three weeks of auction close. $25 per week storage fee after that.
