Vehicle Detail
This a 1990 BMW M3. Car is currently in California, but it was an East coast car for most of it's life. Has rust around rear fenders, right edge of the front windshield, but it was repaired somewhat by previous owner and painted over. There was plenty of work done on it in the last 8 months since I acquired it and I have a book of receipts. The car is mainly OEM with the exception of the springs and shocks, which are probably not original, but it looks feel solid, but comfortable not harsh. Before I hear the same question again, why am I selling after 8 month it is because: I have baby, my other family car got rear ended. That being said I am not in desperate need of selling. I don't mind using this for another year and enjoy another summer in it. Clear title, red on black. SUSPENSION: is straight no rattling, no pulling under breaking, holds straight line. Steering wheel does not shimmer. Handbrakes were recently done. Tires are new Yokohamas with 400 miles on the OEM15" E30 M3 wheels. ENGINE: compression was tested 210/200/210/195. Valve adjustment about 200 miles ago. Pulls strong, revs nice. Clutch was done 500 miles ago and transmission was resealed, flywheel, shifter linkage redone. All necessary parts in the transmission/clutch area were replaced. Receipts are available. BODY: was re-sprayed by previous owner, some over spray at spots, rust was repaired before, but not nicely. Paint is 10 footer, once you get close you can see the issues. I have the Euro Hella Smileys waiting to be connected. INTERIOR: black leather seats, front seats have no tears and the gas shocks to adjust the passenger side were all changed, driver side currently does not fold forward. Rear seat has tears at the usual spots at the stitching where the sun hits the back. Headliner is perfect. Door panels are in good shape. Dashboard has a minor imperfection. Speedo, ODO, trip computer, mirrors, door lock, sunroof, wipers, lights all work. Sony aftermarket CD player is not operational, OEM speakers are not connected to the stereo, and needs to be rewired. My intention was to restore to sound system to OEM, since I don't believe that a car like this needs more modern features and cars like this should be kept as close to original as possible. The car can be driven as is, it is a head turner and. You don't need to service anything on it to drive it and use it, but if it is kept for the long run a body and paint job will be necessary at some point. That being said I do have other BMWs with rust, a 2002-s which I have had for over 10 years and the conditions don't get worse. I own a list of other BMWs: 74' 2002, 88' 635csi, 1999 528i, 1994 325i this is the most expensive one and will have to go eventually to allow me to buy a baby friendly car. I only use this car on the weekends if I take it out at all. It sits in the garage. I commute with a train to work and I don't get to drive any of the fun cars anymore. It is a luxury to have 3 fun cars at the moment. CAR IS USED 27 YEARS OLD THEREFORE SOLD AS IS. I WILL SMOG THE CAR BEFORE SHIPPING. SHIPPING: You arrange your shipping, but I can refer you to a fellow trucker in the bay area who drives across the U.S. and I believe I can get a discount and assist with the introduction.
