RARE OFFERING: ORIGINAL OWNER SALE OF LOW MILEAGE 1991 HONDA NIGHTHAWK 750 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION Please carefully read all of the following information and look closely at all of the photos. Please ask ALL questions before bidding; points below are numbered for easy reference in any questions you have. All photos were taken on 1/19/2017. Thank you for looking. INFORMATION ABOUT THE 1991 HONDA NIGHTHAWK 750 #1 The Nighthawk 750 is, according to many, the perfect “standard” motorcycle. It is comfortable and fast, equally good at commuting and touring. The engine is regarded as bullet proof and low maintenance (e.g., it has hydraulic valves that do not need adjustment). Years ago Cycle World has identified the Nighthawk as a best value in used bikes: http://www.cycleworld.com/2010/10/08/honda-nighthawk-750-best-used-bikes For trivia buffs, The Walking Dead chose the Nighthawk as the basis for Daryl’s motorcycle: http://www.bikeexif.com/daryl-dixon-motorcycle #2 Mechanical condition. This bike is in excellent mechanical condition. I would have no hesitation in driving it across country, as is. It has been carefully maintained and garaged during all of the last 25+ years. I have never redlined the engine or mistreated the bike in any other way. It has never been driven by anyone other than me and service technicians. A year ago, it got new tires (Avon Roadriders, still with only about a hundred miles on them) and a new high performance Yuasa battery. Two years ago, I cleaned, rebuilt and synchronized the carbs. Everything works perfectly on the bike. The engine cranks easily and runs smoothly, not using any oil either by burning or leaking. The transmission, clutch and brakes (with SS brake line on front wheel) work perfectly. All electrics work as they should. #3 Cosmetic condition. This bike has been on its side only once, about 15 years ago when I failed to put the kickstand down completely before dismounting. At that time the following was damaged: (a) broken clutch lever, (b) cracked plastic side panel, and (c) bent gearshift lever. I replaced the clutch lever, repaired the side panel with internal reinforcement using JB Weld or something similar (See Photos 11 and 12), and I bent the gearshift lever back out.(See Photo 7). Other cosmetic flaws are: (d) slight pitting on chrome on instrument cluster, gas cap, and possibly other parts; (e) light rust on bottoms of rear shocks, instrument cluster bracket and possibly other parts; (f) torn rubber grommet on underside of instrument panel; (g) some dry-rotting of rubber gas tank mount, and (h) slight fading/hazing of the red plastic fenders and side panels. The gas tank (except for very slight pitting on the cap) is in perfect condition with no scratches, dents or fading. The seat is in excellent condition with no rips or tears. I can accurately sum up its appearance by saying it looks like a 5 year old bike that has been very well taken care of. #4 Optional Accessories. The bike is completely stock with genuine Honda parts except for the following: (a) original Honda brake line has been replaced by a stainless steel line; (b) signal lights have been replaced with (same style) aftermarket ones; (c) non-Honda oil and oil filters have been used; and (d) standard Dunlop tires have been replaced with Avon Roadriders. Included accessories in this sale are (e) the Ventura rear luggage rack with small (lunchbox sized) detachable bag (Photos 4 and 8), (f) a small easily attached/detached windshield (Photo 9), and (g) a genuine Honda centerstand (already installed). #5 Other Included Items. I am including all of the following: Original tool kit with extra tools and flashlight; original owner’s manual; Clymer’s service manual; and on CD, digital copies of the owner's manual, Honda Nighthawk service manual, and Honda General Service Manual. You will also get one extra oil filter, other spare parts (blinker lenses, carb parts, steering head bearings, etc.) and the carb synchronizing tool, in its plastic case (Photo 9). The battery has an attached electrical harness that allows easy battery charging, without having to remove any body parts. I will include the harness and its Yuasa intelligent charger. (By the way, the battery has been kept on this charger since purchase and is therefore in excellent condition.) All of this is shown in Photo 10. INFORMATION ABOUT PURCHASE AND PICKUP #6 The auction will continue until its scheduled end. I will not terminate the auction early. If you email me requesting a side deal where I would terminate the auction early, then I will NOT even answer the email. If this auction is unsuccessful, then I will later sell the bike locally in the Spring at a price above $2500. The bike market is hot in this area at that time due to the local university population. #7 Shipping and pickup is exclusively the responsibility of the buyer. I will not crate or package any part of the sale, but I will make the bike and all incidentals available to the buyer or shipper. #8 This motorcycle is being sold “AS IS” with no expressed or implied warranty. I invite you or your agent to inspect the motorcycle prior to bidding. It is located in Statesboro, Georgia, USA and you can make an inspection appointment by emailing me at owldawg@gmail.com Once the bike leaves my property, either by shipper or your pickup, it is yours! (Note: An inspection does NOT include permission for you or your agent to drive the bike; I will demonstrate that if you are interested.) #9 If you win the auction, then to obtain the bike you must do both of the following: (a) transfer a down payment of $500 to me via Paypal or cash in personwithin 24 hours of the close of the auction; AND (b) pay me the remaining amount of the auction price by cashier’s check or cash in person within 7 days of the close of the auction. I will release the bike only after all funds are received and verified. (The “verification” procedure may involve taking your cashier’s check to my local bank for authentication.) [Note: Be careful as it may be that your Ebay buyer protection requires you to do the Paypal rather than cash deposit. I am not sure on this but you should check.] #10 When all funds are received and verified, I will surrender the bike, all incidentals described above, and a signed and clear, State of Georgia title. I will keep my license plate and immediately call my insurer and cancel the insurance on the bike.#11 NOTICE THAT THE OPENING BID IS $2500 BUT THERE IS NO RESERVE PRICE AFTER THIS MINIMUM BID IS MADE.
