Hi we offer for sale a very very rare vehicle , A genuine Classic Land Rover stage one V8 County station wagon. VIN / SALLBCMV1AA139144 Add states 1980 the vehicle offered for sale is a 1981 registered vehicle , this is because the US Ebay system does not recognize UK VIN numbers of that age . This has been dry stored for many years and has had a professional light restoration to bring this back to it's good solid and totally original condition . P J Fabrications are proud to offer for sale yet another totally original Land Rover. This vehicle is owned by us and our name is on the registration documents ,This vehicle is part of my personnel collection , I would love to keep all interesting and rare Classic vehicles but Sadly we do not have room to store all my toys . Photos show finished vehicle , last 2 photos show examples of other recent vehicles we have exported . This is a 1981 Land Rover and there are only a handful of the true STAGE ONE V8 county safari vehicles left . This is totally original and has the double skinned safari roof with vents as fitted by Land rover. This is fitted with a 3.5lt V8 engine as original to the stage one , runs and drives perfectly just had a full mechanical service , very smooth and powerful sounds really sweet , loads of torque right through the range . Gearbox ( Manual ) the very strong and virtually indestructable LT95 again this has been serviced and works as it should , (we have fitted a new clutch ), nice smooth gear changes up and down the range , Transfer box works perfectly . Chassis or Frame are in very solid original condition and require no welding what so ever all been waxoyled to help prevent future corrosion . Original Vehicle ID numbers clearly visible . Rear cross member / Bulkhead / outriggers / floor plates are all totally original and in very good order . Doors x 5 Have all been replaced with brand new correct type doors and are perfect . Bodywork is all original very straight , we have given this a full repaint inside and out in the original lime stone color just to freshen up the look . Interior is as original with seating for 12 , all controls original and working as they should even the diff lock warning light works . All sliding window channels have been replaced and all work perfectly . All electrics have been checked . We have fitted this with modular wheels X5 color coded and very good A/T tires all round , We have the original wheels and tires , they are a little perished but can supply them if needed . Swing away spare wheel carrier Galvanized correct type . This is a fantastic go any were vehicle , Runs and drives perfectly , This is a joy to drive with bags of power and goes very very well, This is being sold with no issues . New correct parts fitted include , clutch / front prop shaft / New CV joints / seat bases / doors x 5 / various bushes and seals / bumper / Battery / refurbished alternator and starter / fuel pump / full exhaust system / Brakes / new door lock set / sliding window channels and glass seals . The Stage ones were only built for a short time by Land Rover and these were a crossover vehicle from the 109 to the 110 , they are permanent 4x4 with HI-LOW range also diff lock , and these were fitted with the 3.5Lt V8 as a boost to their under powered diesel and petrol engine performance at that time ( basically Range Rover classic running gear ), These are great fun to drive and use . Parts are still readily available for these as with most Land Rovers . To answer some questions The price includes transport and shipping costs to a east coast port of your choice On RO/RO vessel , other destinations may cost more ? POA .Once the vehicles arrive at the port of choice any customs and port fees charges are payable by the purchaser .To give some idea of extra costs a client very recently paid $445 customs clearance and $350 port fees in Baltimore , prices do vary slightly depending on port . We use a very good shipping company that can assist you with customs clearance process ( just makes life easier ) ( Standard business procedure ) Payment in full before vehicle is shipped , Payments can be made by Most Cards or direct bank transfer . Upon agreeing to buy a vehicle the purchaser will be sent a Pro-forma invoice with Vehicle and payment details, an official receipt will be issued for any payments made . We will send contact details of shipping company for delivery and customs info . Vehicle documents will be Posted to your address by recorded delivery so you have them before vehicle arrives at the port of choice . In the very unlikely event of one of our vehicles not being legally permitted entry to the US we are more than happy to refund all costs . All vehicles we offer for sale are in a original specification and totally legal to import to the US or any were world wide . We do not REBUILD scrap or dead and abandoned vehicles , or use new none age related parts like incorrect engines or new chassis, We start with good solid original survivor vehicles so we simply have to ( what we call ) lightly Restore and refresh our vehicles to bring them back to a good usable and presentable condition . All numbers matching and to original factory specification . All vehicles we export can come with a heritage certificate these can be obtained for any vehicle and cost around $30 . We get asked a lot if we can supply our Land Rovers in left hand drive configuration , The simple answer is , if the vehicle started life as a Right hand drive and converted to LHD version prior to import then US customs would not clear this because the vehicle is not to factory spec . Left hand drive Land Rovers of the correct vintage for legal import ( 25 + years old ) are very Rare , the most common way of acquiring one is to buy a ex MOD vehicle ,these can be bought direct from around $3000 Requiring work ,If these ex mod vehicles are offered for sale you have to ensure they are fitted with the correct engine type normally 2.5NA diesel, And all specifications match the VIN number for that vehicle . The easiest way of determining if a defender is a true left hand drive vehicle and not a conversion is the 9th digit of the VIN number should be ( 8 ) Land Rovers of the correct age for legal importation to the US Have to be in original factory specifications , Please bare this in mind because these vehicles although we all love them are at least 25 years old , they do not have all the mod cons of modern vehicles and they can be described as being quirky individual vehicles with personality and character, The land Rover has unrivaled abilities and if treated with respect will just go on and on , This vehicle is 35 years old and there is no reason why this wont be around and in use in another 35 years and more . If you are looking for a brand new vehicle then these might not be the thing for you . A word to the wise PLEASE be very wary of over priced vehicles offered for sale from the UK that claim to be full REBUILDS . These types have very often had too much work carried out and the US customs regard this type of vehicle as being a NEW BUILD and subject to taxes and inspections emissions and safety tests etc for new build vehicles ( NOT CLASSIC VEHICLES ) , these Rebuild vehicles are more often than not rejected by customs and not allowed entry into the US unless you are very very lucky, PLEASE BE AWARE and make sure everything matches the VIN numbers such as original engine and gearbox type before you spend . Once a vehicle has been registered in the US you are free to rebuild and upgrade specifications as you wish . Please also make sure all VIN numbers are original and clearly visible .
