Everything works and A/C blows cold. The truck was sold new in Japan, as neither this model nor the diesel was available for the US market. It is currently titled and registered in Pennsylvania. We drove it around for 100 miles, averaging 20-plus mpg. Service within the past month included, an alignment and engine oil and transmission and transfer-case fluids changed.Two-tone paintwork appears to be original and remains in great condition. The transmission and drive system operates smoothly, including overdrive, the brakes are firm and have excellent stopping capability and the steering and handling feels right. The acceleration is very impressive and never short on passing power. Having an automatic transmission in a RHD vehicle has been a plus, noting that there’s no need for the constant left-hand-shifting required with a manual-transmission model. The original interior is in very clean, including the headliner, door panels and crack-free dash and the carpeting is stain free. The 1HD-T model 4.2L 6-cylinder OHV turbodiesel engine is rated at 165hp @ 3500 rpm and 232lb/ft torque @1,800 rpm; this truck has 150+hp to the wheels. While the engine is original and unmodified, the exhaust has been replaced with a 3? turbo back. All gears in the automatic transmission work and there are no drips from anywhere. The engine starts on first try every morning. The chassis and underside is completely free of rust of any corrosion. Additional views are shown in the photo gallery below. The shocks aren’t new but are said to still provide adequate damping.This is fully build truck with TJM front bumper, WARN winch, 4 inch lift , and much more. The truck car be used as a camper, thanks to the bed setup in the rear compartment. An oil change this week included an OEM oil filter and Rotella 15w40 diesel oil; the transmission and transfer case were drained and refilled with Redline full-synthetic.
