Are you looking for a good project vehicle? Yes, this vehicle runs and it has had several mechanical and safety items replaced since June 2016. We paid $10,000 plus $800 shipping fee for this car this year. We are willing to sell this vehicle at a significant loss - why? Please read. FULL DISCLOSURE PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BID We purchased this vehicle in June, 2016 from Highland Motorsports in Shaumburg Illinois. We had the vehicle shipped to us in Santa Barbara. Highland Motorsports sells their jeeps on Ebay under the moniker of "Centercaps.Wheels". Due to the poor condition of the vehicle when the vehicle arrived from Illinois, three different mechanics recommended that we send the vehicle back to Highland Motorsports (aka centercaps.wheels) but they would not take the vehicle back. Highland Motorsports has paid to have the following repairs done to the vehicle since it has been in our possession. These three items were repaired in fairly short order after notifying Higland Motor Sports that the vehicle arrived not running. - New Starter- New Radiator - New Position Switch Even though Higland Motorsports had promised to repair the brake lines, the owner of the dealership delayed so long that we were forced to engaged the Attorney General's office in Illinois. He agreed to pay to replace the brake lines and replace the badly damaged soft top if I would not take legal action against him. We agreed and decided to sell it instead. The two biggest mistakes I made in my transaction with Highland Motor Sports:1. Believing the salesman about the condition of the vehicle. 2. Not having an independent mechanic inspect it BEFORE purchasing it. The ad, posted on Ebay by Highland Motorsports (AKA centercaps.wheels) is listed here in photographs so that you can read for yourself how this vehicle was advertised. The ad specifically states that this vehicle runs like a top. Prior to purchasing this Jeep, I contacted Highland Motorsports and spoke to James S. who works at the dealership, to inquire about the running condition of the Jeep. I was told that it ran great. None of the mechanical or cosmetic problems were listed in their ad. In addition to a plethora of mechanical problems, the cosmetic problems are:Broken Console Broken door handle A/C only works on highSeats have small ripsBefore the Jeep arrived, the SHIPPER called to inform us that the Jeep would have to be delivered to our home address because IT DID NOT RUN.We have owned this vehicle since July 2016 and the entire purchasing experience with centercaps.wheels has been a nightmare. I have driven this vehicle no more than 10 miles to take it to a repair shop. We are selling this vehicle as a mechanics special. I will never drive it again. We prefer a local pick up. If you want it shipped, you will have to arrange it.
