Hi we offer for sale another Land Rover Defender 90 suitable for import to the US, Price includes shipping to east coast port of your choice , other destinations may cost slightly more POA . This was first registered 06/03/1987 , One family owned from new with only 50227 miles with history to back this up. The mileage will go up slightly as we are using this vehicle from time to time until sold . This is marked on this add as a 1980 vehicle , this is because the US Ebay system does not recognize British VIN numbers of this age . First registered 06/03/1987. Comes with all paperwork present and correct, all matching numbers . The photos show this vehicle as it is now and ready to go the rest show some examples of our recent work . This Land Rover arrived in to us in totally original and in what we call farm fresh condition ( or direct from work ) The Chassis / Frame is in outstanding condition with no welding what so ever required , the bulkhead / rear cross member / outriggers / floor plates / doors are also totally original and in very good solid condition . Engine and gearbox work perfectly and there are no issues , this has now had a full mechanical service . Bodywork is very straight and tidy for this age of vehicle , and has had a full respray in Atlantic green ( heritage color ) Interior is again all original and in very good condition , seats are clean and no damage all controls work as they should. Modular wheels and very good tyres all round . This land Rover is a joy to drive and will cruise happily at 70mph . For a 29 year old Landy it is very rare to find such an original vehicle with such low mileage , this vehicle has quite obviously lived indoors and has been serviced and maintained as it should have been . This vehicle has had a full a professional light restoration This vehicle could be fitted with a full hard top or canvas roof from $1400 extra and still remain legally importable . Canvas roofs can be 3/4 or full hoods they can be bikini or standard with or without side windows Different colours available to suit . All ID numbers are clearly visible . Because of the originality of this vehicle it conforms to all the rules and regulations in the US for the importation of these classic iconic vehicles . We have shipped many many Vehicles to the US without issue over the years this is simply because we follow the rules and would not offer any vehicle for sale that did not meet the correct specifications for import. We get a lot of questions asking if we can provide these Defenders in Left Hand Drive versions , Unfortunately Defenders of the correct age for import to the US have to be in original factory specification to gain customs clearance and true LHD versions are very very rare ,Most LHD versions that are available have started life as military vehicles , We can source these LHD versions direct from the military , but they have to be Registered here in the UK prior to shipping as we understand the rules, If these vehicles have not been registered they are treated by US customs as NEW VEHICLES and subject to all the rules taxes etc for new vehicles unlike classic registered vehicles, So please be very wary of any UNREGISTERED VEHICLES or any land rovers offered for sale at an unrealistic price ( do your homework ) If the shipping company used is a good honest and established company they will insist on seeing a copy of the V5 registration document before they will agree to transport any vehicle to the US , It is in their best interests to do so . Once a vehicle is registered in the US it is a very simple process to convert these from right to Left hand drive and can be done legally and without issue .
