A true American Icon! The HEARTBEAT of AMERICA!!! This Corvette has not been available for sale in 26 years, since its current 3rd owner has had it. I am offering and listing this beautiful Vette for a very good friend of mine. A mature, established car enthusiast who is retiring and moving to Florida, and cannot take this gem with him. George bought this car from its second owner back in the late 80's and it has spent its years being enjoyed, but always well cared for and very well protected. Sleeping on the right side of a double bay garage for all that time. This car is 1 of 3355 in Mille Miglia Red. It has Dark Red Vinyl interior, and a beautiful white soft top! A significant year for this Stingray, as it is the last year of the Convertible until the body style change and re-introduction in 1986. We do have the original engine, with about 85k miles on it, a good running engine when it was removed. Buyers� choice if he/she wants the engine. ZZ4 Crate installed that now has about 15k miles on it. Also coupled to GM "Fast Burn" Aluminum heads, GM Hot Cam / Lifters / Valve Springs, 750 Demon carb, Hot Coated headers, Muncie 4 Speed with a 3.73 rear end!! This car has traveled a lot with George and his wife, they were not afraid to take it anywhere! George also has accumulated a vast collection of "extras" for this car including Build Sheets, Trophies, manuals, model cars etc.. Condition This Red Hot Rod shows beautifully!!! The body and paint are an older re-fresh, but has been preserved and cared for greatly over the years. It has been very well pampered. There are a few odd chips in the paint, mainly noted dead center of the nose cone, and just below the front emblem. Easily touched up, but we did not want to hide anything. The top is in great shape with a clear rear window. It has been down more than it has been up (isn't that what a convertible is for?) so it needs to stretch out a bit in the sun. The interior is in great shape, and really shows like car with half the miles. Photographed you will see a few cracks on both A pillar covers, otherwise, a very clean cockpit! This is a solid #2 car that will continue to win many trophies and awards as it has over the years, while still providing great fun and excitement on the open road! On a last note, you will note the vintage MA green plate on the rear. These were phased out shortly after this one was issued; the condition is a tribute to the condition of this car.
