Vehicle Detail
dodge , trans am challenger T/A, this car has been garage kept , almost it's entire life , originally this was used as a quarter mile race car, I have been restoring it a little at a time, over the years, the body had a small dogleg repair about 20 years ago with new metal , not putty. and the front left fender had a dent , that was repaired. the rest was all good , the underneath is as good as the top of the car. I had it painted about 10 years ago , I the paint is ok , but not perfect , has flaws, the engine a original T/A 340 has the ta casting on the side of the motor, it is in the picture. the carbs are original , but bowls have been replaced. the motor doesn't have a mile on it since the last rebuild, but it was built for quarter mile racing , higher compression , I have the original bell housing , but the one on the car, is a Lakewood shatterproof , for racing , the engine is powerful you don't want to loose a leg. flywheel, clutch , pressure plate , all new, transmission like new, but has a hemi 18 spline , upgrade, the original , long gone. the exhaust , gas tank , have been replaced, bumpers are original and have a dent . interior , dashboard has a big crack , but the id plate is attached to it so I never changed it . new carpeting ,new front seat covers from legendary . brakes and suspension original , the car sits for a year at a time , and the carbs dry out , so it is fickly to start. and I do not drive this car. the last time was in 89. build sheet found in the right pass seat , is in the pics the back windows still have the original scat pack decals . there are some trim pieces, around the rear window , there not installed but I have them. front valance lenses , they are not installed , but I have replacements from year one in the trunk, with other miscellaneous parts. tires are used Goodyear polyglass E60 15 in the front and G 60 15 in the rear from the 70's, that is what T/A 's came with stock, and the rear had a lift for the exhaust to come out the sides. the antenna was moved to the rear of the car, all factory ONLY for the T/A'S AND AAR CUDA'S. the blocks were cast with a stronger metal and marked with a T/A ON THE SIDES ,special cast heads the rocker arms were offset to allow for porting, but I don't think this engine was ported, and the factory didn't port them. there were only around 5000 of those engines made , and 2399 T/A's, I forget how many 4 speed with the pistol grip shifter. the engine compartment , that is just about what they looked like from dodge. factory cast headers, correct wire hangers and placement , battery cables, hoses Chrysler marked , corbin clamps . and the engine it painted correctly , the blocks came red, and the valve covers and air cleaner were hemi orange. it has the correct 1970 pvc valve . and a replica dodge battery . electronic installed but I have the original duel point ignition, just a note , I don't run this car and I tried to keep as many original parts as I could. so they are old , and problems pop up sometimes. the hood is original and has never been repainted On Sep-25-16 at 18:21:51 PDT, seller added the following information: I push this car around , because it is to much trouble to start , I usually need new needles for the carbs. I don't have antifreeze in it , or water , I was planning on switching to evans waterless antifreeze. but it will runOn Sep-27-16 at 11:42:04 PDT, seller added the following information: there is a number of the block OB297657 matches the title and dash id , the O kind of looks like a C i cant upload anymore pics, but if you message me i can reply with a pic of the # On Sep-27-16 at 16:43:32 PDT, seller added the following information: above the drivers sun visor there are 3 holes about the size of a nickel , you can't see them unless you move the visor down . also the gauges should work but I haven't tested them for a while. the oil pressure was changed from electrical , to mechanical. electrically some wires may need hooked up , may need some light bulbs, and some small trim pieces may need sttached. this comes with 2 rear end gear sets, 4.56 , was used for the quarter mile, and the 3.55 factory original set , ------ and a ebay member was kind enough to let me know there were only 989 manual 4 speed made.
