Vehicle Detail
Stalled retirement project, kept two old cars forever while working years, just finished one car and am reluctantly going to opt out of finishing 32 Ford coupe, which was going to be traditional streetrod type car. This was my find many years ago that is just getting tougher to find, a classic 32 deuce in real original steel, rust free, hidden away for most of last 40plus years, car with history too. Bought out of Omaha, Nebraska, the car was a quarter mile drag racer in the late 60's, at Sioux-City Dragstrip-Airport dragstrip, local favorite that would race a lot of bigger name racers coming in to race. I heard from multiple people, the coupe when it was dark blue color racer, had a blown big block 427? late 60's, and there was a picture of it racing at Sioux-City in the Dragstrip/Airport lobby hallway, along with other pictures of more racers, all pictures have mysteriously disappeared after i inquired about them. After the 60's or into the 70's, car was sold, minus engine, new owner turned it into current car look, streetrod with some of its old personality left, like the handmade racing ladder bars, the rollbar inside the interior, the Muncie patent 3088336 3885010 4sp transmission(1965-67) with Hurst 4sp shifter, the old Firestone 500 slicks and front tires, the huge deep chrome reverse rims on rear, 41 Chev? rear taillights. The extremely well done chopped roof, the body is channeled on the frame maybe 4-6" so sits nice and low, so combo makes low look of car from any angle. Have been buying parts I was going to use with this, so they will go with car, they include....new Carter AFB Comp Series 9605S 2407 600cfm carb, power brake booster unit, glass packs, bunch of vintage gauges, mostly S-W. The body is the cleanest solid metal i had found, doors open and close solid and line up right, hardware handles work well also. So value is in original coupe steel body and frame, rear end probably Chev or Ford, Muncie trans/Hurst shifter, 32 front and hairpins are old school cool, i would of upgraded to new front end and disc brake units. If you want the real thing, and refuse to own fiberglass, and want a historical old dragstrip use car for uniqueness and coolness, maybe here is your next car.
