Vehicle Detail

1975 Scout II, originally a Alabama car and spent some time in Florida. I brought it up to Vermont last year, did not see any winter use. Vehicle is Vermont inspected, starts and runs great, drives great. This vehicle is a daily driver for me around our small town, it's really fun with the top off. It is really solid and could be restored to show car if you were interested.... I am constantly getting people stopping me to tell me how good the Scout looks and they love it. There are a few leaks from the oil pan etc, what you would expect from a 41 year old car, but nothing major. I check the fluid on a regular basis and I have not needed to add any... So I don't consider it to be excessive. The vehicle was lifted 3 inches, the drive shaft should be lengthened a bit if you plan to off road. I did no off-road use and the drive shaft length is fine. The drive shaft cost would be less than $200. Locking hubs are in working order and 4X4 works great. 30 inch tires on wagon wheel rims have 3/4 of tread life left. As I mentioned earlier, this Scout is in working order and drives great, just drove it 45 miles round trip to the hardware store a few days ago. Also, took my Faimly out for a great evening drive. Drives straight and cruises comfortably with no vibration on the HWY at 65 mph. If you are considering a purchase from more than 3 hours away I would trailer the Scout, but less than three hour drive , this vehicle is capable. Additionally, the sheet metal in the trunk area, just above the gas tank could be replaced. I have opted not to do that work, I have cut a piece of plywood to match the shape of the trunk area and covered it with diamond plate rubber mat, cut to fit. It looks and functions great. That being said, it would be the next project that I would take on, but its a easy fix. There are a few very small rust holes in the tail gate that are present but also just cosmetic... I will add pictures soon. I really have no idea how many miles are on this vehicle. Comes with black Bimini Top!
