Up for sale is my restoration project for the last 5 years. This all original Mercedes Benz 560 SL convertible in very good condition cosmetically however, it NEEDS A TRANSMISSION. I was going to re-upholster the seats and recondition any interior item that needed it until the transmission issue. I occasionally took it out during the summers and drove it no more than a dozen times each year. It was garaged in winters. This is the last and most valuable year in the R107 series' 18 year run. It features a V8 considered to be the best engine Mercedes ever built. I do not have the money to replace the transmission so my loss is your gain. Original black soft-top is in great condition. Black hard top has been barely used. Original Palomino Tan seats are in good condition with a wear mark on the left driver side. Carpet is in good condition and includes new black plush OEM floor mats (drivers and passenger). The most impressive part of this car is the original paint. The 27 year old paint looks shines beautifully. There is one small (and I mean small) on driver side rear quarter panel. And a couple of small blemishes that have been touched up. Overall paint condition is a 9/10. The car starts right up however the transmission sticks going from 2nd to 3rd. All four tires are in good condition with 5/16 tread left. Power windows and Lock work properly. A/C works and blows 35 degree air. There is an aftermarket radio installed with CD/DVD player, IPOD interface in the glove compartment and pre-wiring for a sub-woofer in the truck. I kept the original factory radio and will be included (when it was removed the radio and cassette player worked properly). The transmission started to act funny after I took it out of storage this spring. I have had several high-end mechanics look at this in my area and came to the same conclusion. IT WILL NEED A TRANSMISSION. Repairs within the last year: New battery Conversion of A/C and new refrigerant Replaced dual fuel pumps Please contact me with any further questions.
