Vehicle Detail
VERY CLEAN, completely rust-free 2004 LandRover Discovery Series II SE Edition. This Series II is a SOLID, TWO-OWNER California Discovery, residing in California its entire life since being sold new in CA. The Discovery is a Series II in SE trim, completely stock and all original. Low 107K original miles. It starts, idles and drives very well, quietly and smoothly on both town and on the highway, as it should be expected from a well-cared for CA Discovery II. There is ABSOLUTELY NO rust nor corrosion on this vehicle, as it would be expected from a California-lived DII ( hard-pressed condition to find in any Land Rover beyond the Sierra mountains). BEWARE OF RUST BUCKETS FROM THE EAST COAST~! ( it's beyond me why anyone would want to buy an East coast car with potential hidden rust ). This Discovery comes fully equipped with most standard features and amenities available at that time. Clean factory-optional 18" CYCLONE alloy wheels, including the spare wheel along with a nice set of radial tires mounted on them ( with approximately 90% tread left). NO NIGHTMARISH SLS (rear air suspension) option to contend with, a troublesome and very expensive issue to repair. This DII has always had a normal coil & strut suspension. NO air-deflation nightmares ever! In addition, the 2004 is the most desirable year to own, with factory CDL ( Central Differential Lock), only available in a couple of model years. Stock 4.6L engine engine runs very well. As it is well documented in all Land rover circles, the 4.6 motor was a vast improvement over the earlier 3.9 engines as it was more robust and had more torque as a result of engine redesigning to increase displacement to a more efficient, reliable motor. NO overheating issues, ticking nor noises to contend with. This DII has only 107K total miles, better than average for any Land Rover. Engine top end ( valve job, head-gasket, water pump and all incidentals) replacement in late 2012, with documented repair and service receipts included. In addition, it was followed up by a subsequent servicing in 2013 with new coil packs, a new Radiator, rear brakes and a new Power-steering pressure line. Total repairs were nearly $5000. Less than five thousand miles since the work was preformed, as I deployed to Afghanistan in 2013/14 and later to Kuwait in 2015. I did not really start driving it until later in 2015. Automatic transmission shifts well into all gears. Low and High transfer cases work fine. Four-wheel Power disc brakes brake smoothly without pulsation. Power steering and Power windows ( all four work), Power mirrors, dual sliding sunroofs ( both work and do not leak), Power heated seats ( both work), cruise control, CD palyer and cold A/C. Finish is its beautiful, original Vienna Green finish, never repainted or touched up. Still shines quite nicely. The body, chassis and undercarriage are super solid considering this DII is twelve years young ! There is NO oxidation of the clearcoat on the roof, hood or rear areas ( or anywhere else for that matter), a common ailment on many Rovers, specially East Coast examples where the elements and salted roads have taken their toll on the body panels and undercarriage, a hindrance nearly impossible to repair! Its original Connolly upholstery is in very good condition and has held up very well. VERY RARE Ash Gray interior, almost impossible to find. There are no cracks or tears on any of the leather in the seats. Overall, a very clean interior, door panels, factory carpeting and trunk area. The photos show the Discovery accurately. NON SMOKER vehicle, ever. A very solid, rust-free unrestored 04' Land Rover Discovery II, with better-than-average miles and a good 4.6L engine. It runs well with a strong, solid powertrain. Clean chassis, no tweaks and NO rust and nice interior. It will make a great traveler, camping vehicle or just a fun Land Rover to drive around. I've been around Land Rovers for over 30 years, and have owned various models and vintages. Discovery series are one of the most fun. Unlike the vast majority of sellers who simply sell what they do not know ( let alone car dealers!), I own a Land Rover ( actually, I own four: an LWB, a SWB, a 2010 Sport and two other Discovery IIs including a 2000 TreK) and I am fairly familiar with all their quirks. Feel free to call me with questions at (650) 430-4660 PST. I have priced this Discovery II fairly to sell. It has a clear California title, it is currently registered thru JUN 2016. I am also advertising this vehicle in other venues, and as such, I reserve the right to end this listing at any time. Clean Land Rover Discovery IIs are getting harder and harder to find without them being all rusted out, a ton of miles on them, or having to pay a premium for a clean example. Payment to be received within THREE business days please. It can be made via Cashier's check or money order(s). Business, Personal or Annuity checks may also be utilized but must clear first prior to any transportation arrangements being made. An alternate way is bank wire transfer to our local CHASE Bank branch here in town. It expedites the process considerably and allows for faster shipping arrangements.Upon receipt of payment, I will mail the CA title and bill of sale via USPS Priority mail with tracking information. I will be glad to assist coordination transportation/ delivery of the Discovery anywhere nationwide or overseas at the most reasonable rate available. NOTE: Do not go by the Ebay calculator. It can ship for under $1000 anywhere to the East coast. Closer less of course. Overall, a clean, good-running rust free Disco II, all original and well kept. 2004 is the best year to buy ( aside from special Editions, which normally sell for considerably much, much more).Feel free to EM me with pertinent questions or serious inquiries. Thank you for your interest ~!
