Vehicle Detail

You are looking at an ORIGINAL 1970 Ford Ranchero GT optioned with an Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes and Factory Air Conditioning. This car while needing a full restoration is a Solid Southern Car and is an extremely worthy candidate with the GT package and it's desirable color combination!! This is an ORIGINAL M-code 1970 Ford Ranchero GT '48' Body code that was sold new here in the Atlanta area and has never left. This car was a driver and shop truck/parts runner at a local wrecking yard for a number of years before finally being parked beside the shop office for a someday restoration to be performed on it. The restoration never got started on and this car has sat long enough!! It is more than ready for the next Ranchero enthusiast to come along and restore this car to its former glory!! This car was a Retail Order at Willis Denney Ford Co. in Fairburn, GA. and ordered in the Atlanta 21 DSO in the visually stunning and very desirable 1-code Vermillion Hue (Also Called Calypso Coral) with a White Vinyl Top and a nicely contrasting Black Vinyl Bench Seat Interior. This GT was further spec'd out with the Optional M-code 351C-4V, FMX Automatic Transmission, and a bulletproof 9 inch 3.00 geared conventional rear end! This '70 Ranchero GT per the Deluxe Marti Report originally ordered as follows: 351C-4V V-8 Engine FMX Automatic Transmission3.00 geared Conventional RearVermillion Exterior PaintBlack Vinyl Bench Seat InteriorE78-14 Wide Oval Belted White Sidewall TiresPower SteeringPower Disc BrakesAir ConditioningAM RadioTinted Glass This car is a project car and has been sitting for a number of years. Somewhere along the way the Ranchero's powerplant was changed to a 351C-2V engine.( I do have a rebuildable 70 351C-4v engine available at extra cost) The previous owner got the car running and did have it yard driving with some fresh fuel in an auxiliary tank as the original tank is bad. The engine actually runs decently and I have a video of it running in the car that I will post a link to below. It does sputter a little bit at first but does clean out and run decently. A full tune and carb rebuild would do wonders for it. The Transmission does drop into gear and moves the car. but I have not driven it any distance as the brakes are not really functional at this time. This is not a driver by any means, but it is a solid project car that does run. It will need some more work to make it a driver, but could be ready with a weekends worth of work. LINK to video of Ranchero Running:https://youtu.be/GEhDW2ZEgsk The AC on the car is all there and intact but has lost its charge and is not functional at this time. The car been repainted over the original Vermillion/Calypso Coral paint and while being kept the original color changed it was definitely not a high end repaint and it is tired now with cracks and chips all around. Body overall is decent but does have some rust, mainly from sitting. All of the damage is a pretty straight forward repair for a good body guy. Sometime in it's life the poor Ranchero was shot at and there is a bullet hole that broke the back glass and put an exit wound hole in the side of the car. Needs the battery apron patched and a new battery tray. Car's body has very minor rust and has had some filler used here and there used to straighten the body back in the day. Could use a couple of floor pans (see pics) but not your typical rust belt winter driven underside. It has its share of bumps and bruises but is not a terrible car to work with. With that said a complete cosmetic resto would be in order. Car really needs to be stripped, straightened, and repainted back to it's original Vermillion/Calypso Coral color combination again!! The Body on the Ranchero GT while nowhere near perfect, nor paint ready is a reasonably good platform from which to start with. The Hood, Fenders, Doors, and 1/4's while needing some attention are all workable pieces. The Floors have some rust, but the Frame Rails, Rockers, etc. are solid on this car. Undoubtedly you will need some parts and pieces for this car as you restore it, but it is a pretty much complete car that is well optioned and a solid platform to start with!! The Black Bench Seat Interior is original and for the most part is all there; but needing some restoration. While it does show the years of wear and tear; most all of the pieces are actually in decent shape. The car was originally equipped with standard 14 inch wheels which I have for it, it is pictured with a set of Centerline wheels on it; that are for photographic purposes only and NOT included with this auction. This car will be delivered with 14 inch steel wheels back on it. The last couple of pics show this car as found and being hauled out from behind the barn. It is still pretty much as found except for the wheels we put on it that would hold air so the car could be easily moved. Please be realistic in your expectations of this car as a nearly 50 year old project car that has been around the block and knocked around a bit needing complete restoration to include body work, mechanical work, and cosmetic reconditioning. I recognize the fact that this car will need a good bit of work to bring it back, but all of the repairs are straight forward ones that are pretty basic tasks in any restoration. I have priced this car to reflect it's condition allowing the new owner to have a reasonable buy in on the car with plenty of room for investment without breaking the bank. Some sweat equity will go a long way on this car. Overall this is a very decent original 1970 Ranchero GT that is a solid restoration candidate. This is a running restoration project. There are lots of picked over, rusted out carcasses out there; but decent do-able cars such as this that are not rusted to death do not come along very often. This car has a clear GA title from the previous owner that is ready for transfer. If you have been looking for a Solid Ranchero GT to restore then don't hesitate on this one; as is it may be some time before another suitable running resto project such as this comes along again! Please look at the pictures and ask any questions BEFORE you bid!! I want you to be sure of what you are bidding on and for us both to be satisfied with the Ranchero GT's described condition and its sale. I expect a deposit within 24 hours of auctions end and balance of payment within 7 days of auction end. This 1970 Ford Ranchero GT is a nearly 50 year old project car and as such is being auctioned 'as-is where-is' and 'as-described' with no warranties either expressed or implied. I have described this 1970 Ranchero GT project car accurately so please read the auction text and look at the pictures carefully to make sure this is what you want before bidding. If you are not sure please do not bid. I take my auctions seriously and so should you. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!
