Vehicle Detail
Here is a very nice, all stock, 1976 Honda CB550. I bough this bike from it's original owner a few years ago. It had been sitting in a shed covered since the late 80's. I know the entire history of the bike. I will supply the buyer a copy of the original title from 1976. The bikes runs and rides very well, just like it should. Everything works as it should mechanically and electrically; lights, brake light, blinkers, horn, neutral and dash lights, except the start button in the handlebar. The starter itself does work, and I tested it, (you can jump the solenoid with a screwdriver) it's just the button in the hand control. I simply haven't had the time to get to a swap meet to find a replacement. The bike kickstarts easily, so it was never a big priority. To get it back in commission, I did a full mechanical on it. Oil and filter were changed (genuine Honda used), front caliper was rebuilt and brake was flushed, the wheel and neck bearings were repacked, and I installed new tires (had originals) on it. All 4 carbs were rebuilt, tuned and sync'd. The inside of the tank is in excellent shape, as it was drained and the bike was filled with fresh oil before he quit riding it. The points and timing were adjusted to factory spec per the manual. The bike is all original paint and finishes, with many of the factory yellow markings still on the bike. I have not polished or waxed anything, so it has a nice ridden patina to it. The exhaust is factory original, and there are a couple small holes in the mufflers bodies themselves. It does not affect the sound as far as I can tell. The gauges are not faded like most of this vintage, and look awesome. The original tool kit is under the seat. As expected with a 40 year old ridden bike, there are some minor cosmetic imperfections, chips, scrapes, scratches, etc. But overall, this is a very nice rider class bike. The tank has a couple minor dents, and a bit of the paint on the top of the tank has a discoloration. It can all clearly be seen in the photos. Here is a video of it starting/running and testing the systems: https://youtu.be/v_39TK8nr5o Bike has a clean Minnesota title, and MN collector plates. I will leave the plates on if it is sold in MN. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I can help assist with pickup or shipment, but I'm not going to deliver or crate it for nothing. I do have it for sale locally, so I reserve the right to remove the listing.
