Vehicle Detail

1953 Buick Special just out of long term dry storage. The car was torn down for restoration 20 plus years ago and came to a halt when the owner passed away. The Buick was stripped down and painted the red and white you see in the pictures. The paint shines well but does have a few imperfections due to the length of time in storage, The white paint along some of the door corners have minor blistering. Please note that the paint scheme, while being close to factory, should have the lower white paint end at the center of the front wheel well molding not the headlight bezel. It appears all of the chrome and stainless was redone during the restoration process and looks very nice. It is missing the. passenger side rear upper door molding and the three ventiports on the passenger side. Drivers side ventiports should be redone or replaced as they show imperfections. The seats and door panels were redone and show well. The headliner is new but the installation was not complete Carpet is new and still in the box as it was never installed. All the glass is good and the windows go up and down as they should. There is no evidence of rust or bodywork done on the car. The floor and trunk pans are solid with no repair done or needed. As far as the drive train. The motor, transmission and rear end are installed in the car but I do not know the condition of them. The gas tank is out of the car and appears to be new or refurbished. The radiator is also out and in the same condition. The intake manifold is off the car but all motor accessories appear to be there to put it back together. There is a new master cylinder in the box and other new brake parts. The exhaust is still on the car. The car came with tune up parts and in my opinion would not be with the car if the motor was bad but please bid accordingly as I do not know the condition of the drive train. I do not have keys for the Buick but they are not hard to make. The tires are new. The car rolls and steers well. This could be made into a Friday night family cruiser with out much more work and not a lot of money. It would be a great place to put your drive-train into if your current Buick is unrepairable body wise. Use the chrome on this one to put on yours and resell the car to recoup your money. Turn it into a one of a kind gasser? This car is being sold at no reserve. I have decided to put my time and effort into finishing a 1963 Riviera. As always I encourage all prospective owners to come and take a look at the car or have someone look at it for you. Make it yours at auction. Buyer is responsible for all transportation and delivery charges.
