Vehicle Detail
This 1974 Mercury (Ford) Capri runs and drives well. Recent maintenance includes: replaced windshield and rear window seals. The window frames were rust free and painted with an epoxy sealer primer thus the black around the windows. I cleaned up and installed seal kits and pistons in both front calipers, installed new disks, and new brake pads and new front brake hoses. The booster was professionally overhauled. Installed new tie rod ends, track control arms with ball joints, new front cartridges and front coils. I installed a new clutch cable. All fluids have been changed in the last year and the car has been in the garage for about two years. The rear brakes are in good shape. All lights and signals work. The car is equipped with a 2.8 V6 with an Offenhauser Dual-Port 4 barrel manifold, Holly 4 barrel carburetor, Unilite electronic distributor, headers, and, apparently some sort of performance cam gives it a bit of an idle lope and plenty of high end RPM power. This car really hauls. This car has some rust issues on the drivers "A" Pillar and in the area of the windshield cowl on the drivers side as well as typical Capri rust near the lower arches and lower front fenders. The left rear quarter panel needs a good body pro to bring it into shape. I found that damage under a bunch of bondo, so not a product of my doing. The good news: I purchased the inner and outer A pillar, left cowl section and lower outriggers from a company in England reputed to have excellent fit and quality. The "Buy It Now" price or above, includes those sheet metal parts. I have a considerable collection of MK1 Capri parts to be sold as well. All in all this is a fairly nice car despite the cosmetic issues with the paint and rust. Good Luck please ask any questions you like.On Jul-16-16 at 17:36:14 PDT, seller added the following information: Be advised: the Buy It now Price has disappeared and that is an EBay process, I couldn't get it to show on the ad. The photos of Sheet metal can be included in the price if it the bidding reaches at least $3,750.00. Those parts in total cost me $1200.00 so I am not just giving them up at the minimum price.
