Vehicle Detail

2004 Mercury Grand Marquis GS - front end damage - driveable - NO RESERVE - clear title - We purchased this Grand Marquis in August 2013 with about 67,000 miles on it. This has been our family car during that time. Current mileage is just above 110,000 miles. The front end damage is from a rear end collision. We have been driving the car in this conditions for several weeks - the only issues related to damage are that the headlights wobble a bit (they aren't falling out, but the structure they mounted to is now gone). The hood is very slightly bent, but is impossible to tell with the grille missing. There is also a rattle that sounds like it is a loose heat shield, but I haven't been able to track down the source. We have enjoyed this car. It seats six in a pinch, and 5 comfortably. We used it for our family of 4 - which means we regularly had 2 car seats mounted in the rear seat and still had room for another passenger. The trunk is enormous even with the full size spare tire. We easily fit a jogging stroller in the trunk with much room to spare. Fuel economy is quite good for a V8 full-size sedan. We've seen as high as 28 mpg on highway trips and low 20's around town. Tires are in good shape - it is hard for me to estimate the amount of miles left on them so I took pictures of the wear indicators on each tire, as well as the date codes (1611 and 1711 - which I understand to mean they were manufactured in the 16th and 17th weeks of 2011). No cracks or chips in any of the glass. It has adjustable pedals which has helped make driving comfortable for my wife and me since we are nearly a foot different in height. This car is a comfortable cruiser and I believe it will serve someone well who needs budget transportation or is handy and wants to repair the front bumper and grille. I upgraded the stereo to have an aux jack. Unfortunately a couple of the presets don't work, but the tape deck and CD player work properly. Underside you can see from the photos that there is very little rust. The body is essentially rust free - you can see a light amount of rust on the inside base on one of the doors. Other issues (unrelated to the accident): passenger door lock only works manually (doesn't work with the power locks, though the other 3 locks work fine); the rear side windows have some adhesive on them from the aftermarket deep tint that we removed - this means the windows make a lot of noise going up and down; driver's seat has a lumbar adjustment that doesn't work anymore; power outlet in the center console occasionally (twice) has blown the fuse; A/C is working but seems a bit weak - in the photos you will see a part of the A/C system that appears to have a small fluid leak but I don't know if this is the cause or if the A/C just need a recharge. The driver's side exhaust manifold heat shield recently came loose - it is in the trunk, but I have read that Ford will replace this for free as it was part of a service recall. I had the headlight module rebuilt a couple years ago, which was problematic on these cars, so you shouldn't have to worry about that (the module is under the dash, not up front with the headlights so it shouldn't have been affected by the accident). I've attempted to photo all the small scuffs on the body panels, but they may not show up so well in the photos. You can see that there is peeling paint on the rear bumper as well as a crack in the plastic. I've personally done routine oil changes with this car over the last 40,000 miles - roughly every 6-7k miles since this car gets a decent amount of highway miles. You can see no grime in the oil fill cap - evidence the car has been cared for. Please, no bidders with a bidding history less than 5 or I reserve the right to cancel your bid. Also, I am not available to show the car on Sunday. I encourage bidders to come and check out the car in person - I have tried to describe the car extensively, but pictures and descriptions only go so far.
