This is a pretty unique car in it's own rights being a V12 SL600 however this particular car has a very interesting story!!"MECHANICALLY"The car has 137,000 miles and the engine idles at 500RPM and you will not even realize that it is on. It has never had a failed test in it's history."HARD ROOF IS ALSO INCLUDED" "COSMETICALLY"PLEASE NOTE: THE SL600 HAS AN ALL LEATHER HAND STITCHED INTERIOR (which is completely different from the SL500)The paint shines beautifully and the car looks amazing from 5 feet away however we will go into great detail below !!The body is very nice and straight with a small ding at the front of the rear drivers side quarter panel where it meets the bumper cover (see pictures)There is a ding on the back side of the trunk lid (that easily can be worked out with paintless dent removal) just beside the SL 600 emblemThe hood has been repainted and looks like Maaco did it (That is unbelievable and God only knows why). It should be re-done professionally.The front bumper has quite a few nicks and chips that are touched up (not great) and also at the very bottom on the lower valance it must have hit a curb stone?The Convertible top is "Excellent" and has been replaced and looks great with very clean and clear windows as well as inside is perfectThe wood inside (console, dash etc) is excellent although the steering wheel wood has heat cracks from age but is still great (see pics)The seats are very nice for the age. There is a stitching repair in the center seam of the passenger seat (see pics)The carpet is excellent as well as the floor mats look new and it ALSO has genuine Mercedes rubber mats over the carpet mats.The interior is VERY clean and has never been professionally detailed. This is just how nice it is. (see pics)This car will drive anywhere in the U.S. tomorrow morning without issue. There are many R129 SL cars out there both good and bad and many people are fooled into buying 20 year old cars that have very low miles for the model year and find out the hard (and expensive way) that is a huge mistake. These R129 SL cars NEED to be driven regularly or many things will go wrong with them. One of the biggest things that goes wrong is that the convertible top has 11 hydraulic cylinders that when not used regularly WILL go bad and leak and YOU will end up having to repair them when you start driving and using that amazing low mileage car that you bought. Our cost "wholesale" was $1500.00 to re-do all of the cylinders on this car. If you are not in the car business and not well connected (even if you are) then you will pay approximately $3500.00 to repair the roof cylinders and there goes your great bargain low mileage car. These issue on ALL R129 cars is not will the cylinders go but when will they go.Also note that the transmission cost us "wholesale" $3,000.00 and if you again are not connected then expect to pay $5,000.00 + for a rebuilt transmission in one of these cars and yes they do commonly fail.
