Vehicle Detail
Take a look at this incredible wagon offered at NO RESERVE!!! 1989 Ford Country Squire LX with 37,873 miles!! A beautiful Pennsylvania car that shows great!! Growing up my mother had a Pontiac Wagon and I could remember riding in the back without a care in the world. This was the family truckster of yesteryear. Every family had one, it was the way around for the working folks. SUV? What is that? So this old woody wagon has a funny story behind it. Me and my newly married wife live a simple life, I am a Cadillac collector who works in the car industry and she is a school teacher. Well she loves kids, and has been haunting me like a house to start the baby train. Two years ago I bought her a Lexus RX Suv for her birthday. In the time since then the haunting for a child or two has grown stronger. So I told her, if we have kids we will have to trade down the Lexus for a wagon, its the only practical way. She thought I was joking. Until her birthday came along last year and this beast was in the driveway with a big red bow. Oh the look on her face. At 5'5" and 110lbs she would not only get lost behind the wheel, she would destroy everything in her path. So the joke is over and the woody wagon has to go! I don't have the the room to keep it, and it was bought as a joke from the get go. But this example is no joke on condition! I found a diamond. I had it shipped up from PA, so It is a super solid car! True 37k mile car, that lived a life NOT driving kids around and slowly getting trashed. This car was a mom and pop car! Well equipt with the LX package. Turbine alloy wheels, wood trim, power seat, soft velour, two way tail gate, roof rack, and of course the rear facing seat. Finished in Adobe Beige, over Cashmere Velour. Power windows, locks, A/C, cruise control, and much more. This wagon shows very well! No rust or rot poking threw like most that you see. The original wood is in great shape. The paint shines, and all the glass is in mint condition. This is a super solid car if you are in the market for a 80's wagon. I have only put 100 miles or so on the car but I can tell you it goes down the road nicely. The Air blows Cold, and the heat blows warm. all the windows work, including the rear gate. it seems that the drivers front door and tailgate lock do not work. They may need some lubrication. Radio works great, speakers work great (for '89 sound) all the lights work, and I even think the headlights are original as you can see in the pictures they have a slight yellow haze to them. The car starts right over with a flick of the key and rolls down the street nicely on a set of recent Firestone Tires. They still have the nubs on them. There are no rips or tears or even stains in the interior. The rear seat looks like it has never been sat in, the carpet is super plush and fluffy. A sign of a gently used car. There is a carpeted dash pad over what I can see is a slightly cracked dash pad under. However it matches well and fits the 80's style. There is a small tear on the drivers side door pull. The car comes with all 4 original floor mats, two sets of ford keys, a bottle of touch up paint, a very old and probably expired fire extinguisher, a spare used radio, and a super period correct set of NOS FORD mud flaps. Non smokers car. There are 2 spots of rust that started in the rear gate jamb, its minor surface rust that was from the door gasket. it was sanded and touched up, both are the size of a dime. The only other corrosion starting to form is in the passenger side front door seam. It is just starting to blister. There are a few marks in the wood paneling, but very VERY presentable. Some minor cracking of the wood around and under the gas cap, probably from years of fuel. There is a small spot of wood peeling behind the Right rear wheel. The two rear interior panels on the back sides that cover the spare tire and storage compartment have sun damage from taking the heat. This is very common on these wagons. They are not warped, just dry. There is corrosion on all 4 alloy wheels. That seems like the biggest blemish, even though they are not horrible. All the wood panels that surround the center wood was refinished and painted a wood tone color. Also very common that the lamination comes up, and this starts to flake off. A wagon recently sold on here for big money and the wood was flaking on these panels. The refinished trim looks a heck of a lot better. And that is my story. I would love to keep this wagon because it is so clean and solid, but I do not have the space, and I actually don't have the kids yet LOL. I hope you will enjoy the 180 pictures below , and look them over closely. I did my best to describe this car, but keep in mind it is quite old now, and is used. Always expect minor imperfections. This is a great solid wagon to have lots of fun and memories in. The car is being sold AS IS, I welcome anyone who would like to see the car to come check it out in person in BIllerica MA.
