I purchased this XJ6 less than a year ago from a senior citizen who was moving out of state. He purchased the car directly from the Jaguar dealer in 1998. He kept the car in great condition and had it serviced regularly from New Vernon Coach & Motor Works, a high end mechanic that is local to where he lived in Mendham, New Jersey. I have it serviced there as well. The car works great and I have taken it with me on several long trips including one to Connecticut. I am selling it because I have taken on a project that requires a pickup truck and that will be my next purchase. There are eight issues that I am aware of with the car: 1. The air conditioning works below average to sometimes not all.2. The rear brake light was not attached to the rear window, so I had New Vernon Coach & Motor Works glue it and add high end theater tape so that it can be removed later without sticky residue. I keep the tape on though because it does not bother me, and maybe the light would fall off again. Please see picture.3. The car has not passed NJ State inspection because I was told the car needs to be driven enough to kick the sensors on. I am not sure if this is true or if the sensors need to be replaced.4. There is a squeak sometimes when the car is first started and for the first mile or so, which I believe is due to a loose belt.5. The is a spot on the roof of the inside cabin where the felt needs to be reattached. This does not bother me though.6. When I was cleaning the car this morning, I noticed a crack on one of the pieces on the plastic bumper until the grill. It is a small piece that can be easily glued. I did not want to glue it so you can see that it is cracked. Please see picture.7. There are several scuff marks on the bumpers. Please see pictures.8. There is paint crackling on several places, most notably on the front hood. I am not an expert on cars (I know how to put gas in and that’s pretty much it). I love the way it drives and it is extremely comfortable. It comes with some great cassettes as well that were in the car when I bought it, including Don Henley and Phantom of the Opera :L). It comes with a car cover that I am told costs several hundred dollars. If you have any questions, please let me know.
