Vehicle Detail
I've owned this car since 2008. It's a solid, clean, rust free original paint car. I consider it as more or less a tribute car to if GM had gotten serious about Crossfire Injection performance in the 3rd generation Camaro. I had always wanted to find a clean LU5 Crossfire Injection car and add a free flowing, period correct exhaust and T5 manual transmission. And that's pretty much what I did here. The T5 used is a 1984 wide ratio unit with gear ratios which work perfectly with the stock 2.93 Posi rear end. I've tried to use original, AC Delco or period correct pieces wherever possible. Even the shifter ball was sourced from an '83 Z28, with the stitching going up and down. The restrictive exhaust has been replaced with factory L69 High Output exhaust manifolds, a custom made 2.25" Y-pipe, going into a 3" Catco High Flow cat, into a real 3" intermediate pipe, and a vintage, '80's SLP 2OTL muffler. Car sounds and runs awesome. I'll try to go through some of the new parts: Tokico struts and shocks. Tokico 2" lower springs, (still have the originals) AC Delco strut bearings. 1986 IROC-Z Wonderbar Starter Water Pump Power steering pump AC Delco Distributor cap, coil and rotor IAC AC Delco O2 sensor 2 K&N airfilters MAP sensor All new vaccuum lines HVAC fan Heater control switch 160* T-stat Driver's side injector ECM New visors, (New as in NOS, never been used before me) New and CORRECT '83 window switches. (Double the price of the newer, more common ones) Chuck Pelton correct '83 Z28 steering wheel, (best $200 I ever spent - by far). Clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, etc. Phoenix Graphics hood blackouts Coolant overflow bottle Window Washer bottle Driver and passenger side grills Silver Star headlights. Battery. Many more I can't even think of. The car runs awesome, lots of fun to drive and have driven it long distance and is very reliable. AC blows ice cold. It is an original paint car and has multiple door dings. It could use new T-Top seals and window sweeps. Approximately $10,000 invested. Separately, I also have some very rare and hard to find parts I bought for this car. The last ever in the world, correct, CFI hood insulation molded with the aluminum backing, still in the original GM box. New and unused blue GM front floor mats. I searched for years to get these, haven't seen any since and have never installed them. I saw new GM floor mats in the common black color on ebay for $500 last month. How much are these super-duper rare blue ones worth? Your guess is as good as mine. Complete, blue Lear Siegler Conteur interior, including nice door panels - which I had to pay through the nose for. Front seats need to be re-upholstered and I have purchased enough "CAMARO" fabric to do them. I don't have the blue bolster fabric, though. This is a cool, fun car, but it's also 32 years old and shows some wear. Let me know if you have any questions. Car currently has 106K miles on it. Car is sold as-is without warranty. I reserve the right to end auction early as car is also for sale locally. $500 deposit via cash or paypal, due within 48 hours after auction. *************WILL CONSIDER TRADES FOR IROC-Z 5 SPEED CONVERTIBLE OR TRANS AM 5 SPEED CONVERTIBLE****************************On Apr-01-16 at 09:46:49 PDT, seller added the following information: I had a request to post close ups of the exhaust, here they are.
