Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 1989 Mistubishi Delica Exceed. Four wheel drive, 2.5 liter 4 cylinder turbodiesel, 2-speed manual transfer case, auto locking hubs, and rare 5-speed transmission (Most of these vans are automatics). These are very heavy and rugged 4x4s, used all over the world. Note that it is right hand drive, imported from Japan. They come with 2 swiveling captain’s chairs and a full rear folding bench seat. Total passenger capacity 7. The rear gate and passenger area are large enough to carry a full sheet of plywood. The van has a large power sunroof that a previous owner caulked closed rather than replaced the seal. It has power windows, brakes and steering. It comes factory equipped with front and rear bull bars, and heavy skid plates under the steering components and fuel tanks. It also comes with a bank/tilt indicator as well as an altimeter. It has rear slider windows, which most Delicas do not, and makes the van a lot more comfortable. It is a standard roof, which means it doesn’t have the rust issues found on the high top crystal light roofs. A lot of work has gone into restoring the van. A complete new head, timing belts and tensioners, accessory belts and new injectors were just installed. Over the last couple of years it has had a new alternator, the injection pump was rebuilt, and the clutch was replaced. It has 196,000 miles. This is a 4X4 - the paint shows some brush rash and there are some scrapes and dings most notably on the driver’s side rocker and on the bottom of the slider door. Paint on the roof is faded but no rust. Tires are good, but the alloys are original and show corrosion. They could be sandblasted and restored if someone cared enough to bother. Toyota 6-bolt wheels also fit these vans. New floor mats but the carpets show the wear and staining you would expect from a vehicle this age. It has an aftermarket stereo but the antenna was never connected. I've put a ton of work and money into my van, but for some reason my wife just can't get used the RHD, and now she is required to drive it every day, so I have to pass it along. The vehicle VIN (that ebay won't accept) is 2BC612075W0404737
