Vehicle Detail
2003 Audi A6 2.7T Black/Black | 6-Speed | Sport Package I'm listing this car on behalf of my father (75yo). This was his daily driver for the past five years and the car was very reliable during that time. It's black on black with Sport Package (3-spoke steering wheel, sport seats, and stiffer suspension) and 6-Speed manual transmission. Pennsylvania inspection will expire in September. It has 170,000 miles and its most noticeable battle scars are a collection of dents from runaway shopping carts and the hazy paint on the hood. The driver side headlight has some scratches and needs a polish. Everything works with the exception of the key fob's lock/unlock buttons. No problems with the original sport suspension, but the shocks are a bit worn out having been on the car for 170K. The interior is is good shape with no tears or obvious wear to the leather seats and no sagging of the original headliner. A/C blows cold. The rear tires are brand new and the front tires have about 2/3 remaining. No issues with the original clutch. A custom Alpine rear-view camera system with parking sensors works very well. Just flip down the driver's visor to view the rear display. Timing belt, valve cover gaskets and engine mounts were replaced at 125K. Oil changes with Amsoil synthetic and Mann filter every 5K. The Check Engine Light (CEL) is on and shows code P0421: Warm up catalyst - efficiency below threshold. This suggests that the car needs new catalytic convertors, although installing a $10 spacer on the oxygen sensors will often eliminate the CEL when the convertors are nearing end of life. The light came on recently and I never got around to trying the spacers before my father bought a new car. I have not had a mechanic look into this issue, so I don't know exactly what's wrong. Photos were taken after a thorough wash of the car to give an accurate picture of the condition of the paint. There was no wax or protectant on the exterior or interior of the car when the attached pictures were taken. Obviously, it would look better after a wax/armorall. The good: Alpine VPX-B104R VPASS (Visual Parking Assist Sensor System) rear view camera with collision sensors. 7" Monitor installed in driver's visor.Timing belt, valve cover gaskets and engine mounts were replaced at 125KOil changed every 5K with Amsoil synthetic & Mann filter Power heated seatsPower rear window sunshadePower folding mirrorsXenon/HID headlightsOriginal clutch is still strongValid PA inspection until September 1st Genuine Audi European blind spot driver-side mirrorAll LCD displays are clear - no dead pixels New rear tires (tread depth 10/32) Front tires are at 7/32 (about 1/3 worn) Issues: Check Engine light is on: Code is "P0421: Warm up catalyst - efficiency below threshold".Various dents (driver (Rear?) & passenger doors, hood) Paint on hood is oxidizedLock buttons on the key fob don't work ($20) Left rear window needs a new track ($30)Cup holder next to the parking brake is broken. Wheels have oxidationDriver-side headlight needs polishingThe driver-side rear window needs a new track/regulator. It will become misaligned when closing and get stuck. A new track will cost about $30 on ebay and is easy to install. The electronic lock/unlock buttons on the key fob stopped working. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
