1987 TOYOTA FJ60, 4 LINK - COIL SUSPENSION REAR, ORIGINAL ENGINE AND 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION. First and foremost.....this was built as, and remains a trail rig. I don't drive it on the road for a few reasons, all are safety concerns of mine. If you wish to drive this on the road, there will need to be some changes made to it. I will speak more about that below. This in good shape considering it has been used and not parked. I bought this truck about 10 years ago and did a spring over suspension conversion but was not happy with the off road capabilities, so I built a triangulated 4 link using Toyota 4-Runner coils. The arms are 1 1/2 DOM .125 wall tubing with massive 1 1/2 heim joints. It is a well made and very stout set-up It works very well, offering about 16 inched of rear travel and rides smooth. This work was completed several years ago and it has been trail tested with out issue. The drive line is other wise fairly stock with the 2F motor and 4 speed transmission The A/C compressor and the smog pump are off of the truck. I have also removed some of the vacuum lines and emissions. It is a bit cold blooded but runs fine once warmed up. The body is a little banged up. As I mentioned it is a trail rig and has had a few minor brushes with trees and rocks. Specifically, the passenger side is dented on all of the panels. The doors and windows still function just fine, but they are a bit knocked around. Also on the passenger side is a tear in the lower rear quarter(see picture).....got hung up on a rock. The drivers side is pretty decent, but by no means a show-stopper. There is very little rust on the body. The drivers rear quarter was repaired before my time and is has some rust on the seam ( see picture). All four corner turn signal lenses are broken. I was going to buy new ones but they have to be shipped from Japan and would not arrive before the sale. they are less than $100.00 for all four. All of the exterior lights work including turn signals. I tried to show the significant body issues in the images the best I could. The interior is remarkable clean and complete. A mouse got into the headliner last winter and as a result, I removed the headliner and insulation from the interior roof. It also chewed up the front seat belts and although they are not complete junk, they will need to be replaced. There is no center console. The tires are in good shape with about 80% tread. They are BFG 33x12.50 x15's with no weather checking. These tires are not the tires I ran off-road. The truck was set up for 35x12.50 and works well with that size tire. The differentials are open...not locked. It works well for me this way. I put a Ramsey 8000# winch on a receiver hitch on it. It works well and comes with a 10' corded switch. Now.....here are the issues that should be addressed before this is driven on the road. The steering arm is just a piece of bent DOM tubing with 3/4 heim joints, which works fine off road but is not the best idea for highway speeds. It should have a high-steer kit installed (about $175.00). It needs side mirrors, they are broken off. The windshield has a crack. I have driven this on the highway and it goes down the road just fine, although it has a fair amount of body roll due to the 4-link rear suspension. If it is going to be used as a daily driver, I would recommend a anti-sway bar. I have a clear title. Please ask questions if you have them. If you are going to bid, be prepared to have it shipped or bring a trailer to pick it up.
