This is a 1981 XR 500R in pretty decent shape.It runs and shifts through all gears. Starts easily by the third or fourth kick cold. Needs some basic maintenance, new gaskets, oil change and a good carb cleaning/tuning. I wouldn't race the Baja on this bike in this condition but this bike has some pretty decent parts and all of the important stuff is there.Looks like someone did a resto job on this bike in their garage. They had suspension and linkage rebuilt with new bearings and seals. New fork seals. New tires and tubes. New grips and levers. A couple of new cables. New kill switch. New seat. Looks like pretty fresh chain and sprockets too. The forks have no rust or heavy wear marks neither does the shock shaft. The brake work but probably need pads or some fine tuning. The handle bars are slightly bent so I would either straighten or replace before a serious ride. The previous owner fit A FMF exhaust to the original pipe. It needs to be mounted slightly different to work properly. Doesn't have a title but I will provide bill of sale. I have recently fired this bike up and given it a mild test ride to make sure it still runs. It ran pretty strong. It has brand new tire so I didn't want to put any wear on them so I kept the ride short and pretty slow. Anyway you can pick up or I can ship this bike. I put the new tank decals on because I had a set laying around. I'm starting this low with no reserve. Getting rid of bikes and parts I don't need CHEAP!
