Vehicle Detail

I have owned this car since 2002. I didn't even put 1000 miles on the car since then. I bought the car because of how original it was, problem was I could never bring myself to modify it and since have bought a 69 belvedere last spring I built as more of a strip car, so time for this one to go to someone who will enjoy it. It sat in the barn for long enough. I did not drive it much and it hasn't been on the road since the body was finished, new brakes and so on. It is not a mint show car, was never intended to be one, just a really nice driver you could drive and enjoy and go to shows/cruises and be proud of it. Has the fender tag and has 2 build sheets, one is pretty nice. The car is the sport model and is basically the same as a gtx except no 440 engine. Has the same wood grain inserts, door panels, console, etc. I will add more pics soon, for whatever reason the pics of the exterior look sorta bumpy and make the finish look not as smooth as it is. It was not cut and buff as I didn't want a perfect flat finish, wanted a really light orange peel like the factory finish. But could easily be wetsanded and buffed if you want it smoother... 8th pic shows a close up the finish, in the direct sun, it looks perfectly smooth. The interior is mostly original except for the front seat covers and carpet/console side carpet. Otherwise is is all factory and pretty nice considering that. All the switches all original even the fader for the dash lights and still works perfect. All interior lights work and it's really bright in the dark, not just a dome light like most old mopars. The rear seat seams on top have split a little, also the rear of the headliner seam has... happened in the past few years since the front seat/carpet was done. The radio face plate is missing the lower bar, so wouldn't hurt to swap in a modern radio. The original radio works, but the dial won't move much and the speaker is finally coming apart. The dash does have two hairline cracks. I did install the side markers today, 3/18 and they all 4 work as they should. I also put on the front turn signal/park light lenses and new bulbs, they work. Headlights, turn signals, 4 ways, back up, license plate, side marker and all interior lights work. There is a trunk light also, I don't have a bulb in it, but not reason it won't work with a bulb. The engine and transmissions were removed and resealed in the past 18 months. They both are original to the car and work perfect. The engine has new gaskets, head gaskets and all, carb had a kit put in, new valve stem seals... reason it was pulled, it needed them most of all. New trans filter and seals. New water pump/thermostat and fuel pump. New aluminum direct fit radiator, original finally started leaking. Motor was painted orange because I could not find a good original red paint that covered well. Engine has the original headpipe, one pic shows where it connects to the rear section... it's not the prettiest, but works good. The tip is a road runner style since the tail pipe came off a roadrunner I had, just a single exhaust. There are more new parts... just too many to remember/list. The body had the quarters replaced, outer wheel houses and trunk floor... pretty typical for these year b-bodies. Fenders/trunk lid were replaced with better parts I had from a 68 belvedere. Reason there are no sport satellite fender emblems on the car. The car is painted in dupont base/clear coat in its original gg1 dark racing green. There is some light smoothing putty in the car like any car with repop quarters. To get them straight, not to fill in rust or anything like that, it's not full of putty. The 8th picture shows a ding in the quarter, to the right edge of the ramcharger by the wood pile... little dimple show in the reflection. You can see the paint is pretty smooth. It looks black at night when there isn't much light and really brightens up in the sun. It has a new legendary vinyl top just done in the past few weeks. The roof was fully painted/cleared also under the top, so no worries of it rusting/bubbling underneath. It has brand new AMD bumpers front and rear. It has new door handles also with original black style buttons for 68/early 69. It is a factory undercoated car and it was reapplied when the new panels were installed. Also still has the original trunk mat, although cracked and has the original 14" hubcaps. The brakes are all new front to rear except the drums. New shoes/wheel cylinder, stainless steel lines, rebuilt master cylinder. Brakes were tested and bled today 3/19 and all good now. It also has a new gas tank with good working original sending unit/fuel gauge, not a repop that doesn't read the correct level. Also has a 3/8 stainless fuel line... had planned to swap in a 440 years ago, reason I went with the bigger line. Has 15x7 cop wheels all around with almost new cooper cobra tires, 235/60 and 255/60s, might be down 2/32nds of tread. Has an 8-3/4 rear with 2.76 open gears, great for cruising. I was getting 15mpg just driving locally, no highway. I have a spare and jack/base handle etc that will be included in the car. It's not the original jack setup to the car, but looks very similar to a correct one and the spare is 15" The only changes I made from original are the top was originally green, now black... couldn't handle too much green. The wheels were originally 14" and engine changed to orange. Rear glass and front glass are not original. Also originally had wheel opening moldings, had an repop set to try but didn't like the fit, so I returned them and never got a set. There were also the bullet fender top turn signals which I still have... fenders were replaced and that's why the sport satellite script is no longer on the fenders. Like I mentioned, this is no perfect show car, but a nice original/partially restore driver. Lots of room in these models, can easily fit 4 or 5 people. Car/title will not leave my possession until full payment has cleared. It is a clean title, in my name. I would assist in shipping if needed. I live near a business with a large parking lot with plenty of room for a car hauler. I would have no problem working with a seller over seas also. Not desperate for money so I won't be giving it away for a quick buck. I'd much rather see the car go to someone who will drive it, but I will put it back away before selling it cheap. I have followed these cars in particularly 318 models and this price is in line with what cars of this condition sell for. I personally know of a local sellers who sold 2 for near 16k. I do have it listed as best offer, but I'm not even going to consider 2/3 of the asking price. I've had the car for this long, so I have no problem keeping it around. I know what it would cost to build another in this condition... even just to buy a driver and do body/paint would be more than 15k.
