Vehicle Detail

Up for bids is a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Club Victoria. I have owned this car for 11 years and during this time it has received a ground-up, body-on restoration. The body was stripped to bare metal and minor rust was removed and new metal welded in. It was finished in correct Willow Green and Colonial White. All chrome, except window frames was replated and all stainless straightened and polished. New gold trim installed. The front suspension and power steering was rebuilt. New weatherstripping and seals installed. The original 292 Y Block engine was completely rebuilt by Bill Coleman of the famed Coleman Brothers Speed Shop in Baltimore. It was bored .40 over, rods rebuilt and the crank turned 10/10 and polished. The assembly was balanced. New cam bearings installed and an Isky E-4 cam and kit installed and properly degreed to the engine. The cylinder heads were completely rebuilt, chambers cleaned up to give better flow and CC'd to give 9.3 compression ratio (receipts available). A vintage Mallory Dual Point distributor was set up to give proper advance and installed. The engine was topped with an original, correct Ford passenger car E- code induction system. Original manifold, carb spacers, hold downs and correct Holley carbs (ECJ 9510 List 1434AB and List 1437 AA). It has the rare passenger car E code air cleaner. The correct 3 speed manual transmission was completely rebuilt using NOS or NORS gears, bearings, synchros, etc. A NOS, circa 1965 Hurst Synchro-Lock 3 speed shifter was installed. The drive shaft was rebuilt and balanced. It has a rebuilt 3.70 Traction Lock rear. Vintage Traction Masters installed. All brakes and gas lines replaced with stainless lines. All glass is original except for the passenger door glass. The interior was restored using a LeBaron-Bonney/ ABC interior with the correct fabric inserts with silver thread. The headliner is original and in nice condition. The padded dash was replaced as was the carpet. All gauges and switches work. The original radio was converted to AM/FM with AUX jacks. The clock was rebuilt and works. The wheels are 15x7 wearing BFG radials. NOS "dog dish" hubcaps installed. Included in the sale are 4 original 14" wheels and hubcaps, a column shift assembly and the original carb, manifold and air cleaner. I have receipts for $22,711.00 in parts alone, not including the cost of the car and labor costs ($9,000 in the engine). There is a least another $1,500 in parts I don't have receipts for. My reserve is just a little north of that. I believe the stated mileage to be correct. After stripping the paint, I believe all the body panels are original to the car. All door, trunk and hood gaps very nice. I have a clear, matching Maryland title in my name. A $500.00 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction close, full payment within 7 days. The car and title will not be released until all funds clear my bank. There are no warranties or guaranties, implied or expressed. All transportation costs are the responsibility of the buyer. I encourage all bidders to inspect this Ford prior to auction end. If you have any questions or desire more photos, please ask. Thanks for looking!
