Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1999 turbocharged Mazda Miata. I bought this car with the intent to turn it into a very fun car that could be used at track days, but life got in the way. Fortunately for whoever buys this car, I’ve done 90% of the prep work to get it there. Lots of goodies already on the car. This will sell for far less than I have in it… but that’s the way it goes. Here’s a quick list: - Garrett T2560 Ball Bearing Turbo Charger (including manifold, turbine, and wastegate) - Flyin’ Miata Downpipe Lower - Bell Engineering Log Exhaust Manifold - Inconel Manifold Studs w/ Stage 8 Locking Hardware - Innovative Wide Band Oxygen Sensor (for clean tuning) - Microsquirt Standalone Fuel Management System - Custom CONSERVATIVE Tune by Engine Logics in Stafford, TX two ~210whp - New Oil Pressure Sensor - New Coolant Temp Sensor - Hard Dog Hardcore Roll Bar w/ Double Diagonals (professionally installed) - Flyin’ Miata Stage 1 Clutch with less than 500 miles - OEM Radiator with less than 1,000 miles - Stainless Steel Brake Lines - Hawk Performance Brake Pads with less than 500 miles - DOT 5 Brake Fluid - Redline Transmission Oil - Redline Differential Oil Virtually all of these upgrades were professionally installed. You’ll notice everything is designed to be durable. I am not the original owner of this car. When I purchased it, I had Pro Am Racing in Houston go through the car in detail and any mechanical issues were promptly fixed. The car has about 500 miles on it since then. Under my watch, the car has been kept in my garage. Tires will need to be changed pretty soon. The suspension is stock, but has been inspected and is in good shape. The car runs great. It is certainly drivable on the street, however, some counties will give you a hard time about the fuel management system being standalone. Most states have a way to work around this. The car has a clear Texas title, and is currently on a temporary registration in Harris County. Let’s be real here. This is NOT a show car. It has cosmetic dings and dents. If you are looking for a show car, this isn’t what you want. A show car with this build will cost twice as much, maybe more. If you are looking for something that is a ton of fun to drive and can be made track ready with only a couple more tweaks, this is the one. As mentioned above, the car was tuned by Engine Logics in Stafford, TX. They tuned with hostile conditions in mind (e.g. a track day in 95 degree heat). It is a quick car that will be a force on the street or the track. I have dynos with AFR data available upon request. IT WOULD COST YOU MUCH MORE THAN THIS TO BUILD THIS CAR OUT YOURSELF. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FACT THAT I DON’T HAVE TIME TO SEE THIS ONE THROUGH TO ITS FULL GLORY. The car is being sold as is. There is no warranty and no warranty is implied. I believe this car is mechanically sound, but it is the buyer’s responsibility to fully inspect the car before driving it aggressively to ensure that the mechanical condition did not change during delivery. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.EDIT:A few items I should mention as we enter the last day of the auction:- The drivers seat has a ~5" tear in the upholstery from wear.- Like most aftermarket forced induction applications, the car is a bit fussy on cold start. A little bit of gas and it idles fine in about 10 seconds. Same with warm start.-The A/C works and blows cold, but bogs the engine at idle. No issues at all when the car is underway.- 5th gear grinds a bit when you slot it into gear.
