Vehicle Detail
1981 Porsche 928 VIN - WP0JA092XBS820860 Mocha Brown on Tan leather with herringbone-style cloth inserts 82,000 miles (and climbing - this is an awesome driver) Located in San Diego - Car is currently registered and carries a clear CA title. Wears it's original CA blue plate! Clean carfax Three owner car. Completely original - wears original paint, undercoating, interior, carpet, which it left the factory with. Look at the detail shots - it's all there, in excellent condition. The only modification is the aftermarket stereo system. Low mileage - 82,000. Every record from new, including window sticker, owners manual, and warranty booklet. Options include: - Heated outside mirror, right - 7x16 alloys - Protective side molding - Cassette holder - Electric sliding roof History of the car - Bought new at Bozzani in West Covina. San Diego car it's whole life. The last record I have with the original owner's name is in 2008 and 46,000 miles. Next owner had the car until 81,000 miles. Both took meticulous care of the car and kept it garaged, as shown by extensive service records and condition of the paint and interior. It's difficult to find a 928 which has been taken care of like this one has. Exterior - The factory Mocha brown paint is in fantastic condition. Even on the trim and bumpers, the paint is deep and shiny. There is one small scuff on the passenger side mirror, and behind the passenger side rear wheel. The only rust on the car is under the passenger side rear window seal - see photos. I believe the rear bumper has been repainted, but color and condition of paint matches the rest of the car perfectly - only a true Porsche nut would be able to tell. This color suits the car well - deep and rich, looks very dark on cloudy days and really pops in the sun. Mechanical - The maintenance records indicate that things have been kept in excellent shape - and it shows! No bad noises from the engine or transaxle. Everything is tight and strong. AC was recently charged and pressure tested - blows cold! Car has upgraded aluminum coolant tank to replace factory crack-prone unit and new accessory drive belts. Suspension and steering is tight and responsive, brakes are solid, tires are Dunlop Dirreza Z1s - awesome tire, and brand new. Interior - All original here as well. The leather in the 928 is much softer with a smoother grain than what they used in the 911 - which usually rips or deforms - NOT the case in this car, as you can see in photos. All cloth inserts are in excellent condition - no rips, excessive wear or stains. This cloth pattern is rare and really suits the 928. If you're in the market for a manual 928, you know how difficult it is to find one in this condition. If you've been thinking about getting one, now is the time! I believe these cars are going to take a huge leap in value in the coming years. International bidders - I can drop the car off at the port in Long Beach.
