Vehicle Detail

1989 Land Cruiser + 33x12.5 wheels / tires in REALLY nice condition! This truck spent the majority of its life stored in a garage. The ~207k miles are all original and accurate. I purchased the truck in november with the intent of building a restomod, but have since added another vehicle to the fleet, so my plans have changed. Would love to keep it but dont have the room in my driveway for 4 trucks. About the rig - Very little rust of note. The worst of it is on the passenger rear rocker edge- rot through the cover only for the last 3 inches or so. The trailing lower edge of the passenger wheel well was also affected but not bad. The rest of the rust is surface and superficial. I treated all of the spots with rust inhibitor and sprayed a coat of black rust proofing primer to protect the areas for the winter. I do my own paint so had planned on shoring up the blemishes over the winter and completing body work and a respray in the Spring. Probably worth noting that the one area of rust on the rear rocker edge wasn't THAT bad. But when i do bodywork, i like to do it right, so went at it with a screw driver to see the extent of what i'd want to cut out and replace when i got around to the repair. No mechanical issues really other than the fuel sender needing to be replaced and the auto door locks not functioning (they click, but dont activate - just haven't had time to chase down the problem but in researching, it might be as simple as resetting a breaker...). Havent driven it much or done much to it since i've owned it. Did complete a full coolant flush and fill with genuine toyota antifreeze. Also replaced the rear bench and front drivers seat fabric (no tears anywhere!) as well as replacing one of the two cat converters. All driving lights are new as well. The truck drives well - was my daily driver for the last 2 months - and runs like a top. Minor issues to note - assuming tie rod ends will need replacing some time in the near future, AC needs recharge, and there's a minor exhaust leak from the rear of the muffler. Truck has a new battery and new brake master cylinder. The previous owner also replaced the rear hatch upper and lower doors with used refurbished units. He also replaced the front bumper with a refurbished unit. I do have the pre-purchase inspection that i had done prior to my purchase - would be happy to share with you. The stereo works (CD&radio), as does the rear heat and dome lights. As with most 60 series LC's, there is cracking in the dash - Nothing a dash cap cant fix. Again, this is a super SUPER nice FJ62. Not perfect, but the patina shows well and doesnt detract from its appeal. This thing turns heads everywhere it goes. FYI - I'd planned on converting the front end to the FJ60 lights grill and lower valance. I sourced all of the parts ( lights, turn signals, light surrounds, center grill, core support and lower valance) and will make them available to anyone purchasing at the 'buy-it-now' price. Will also include the original wheels and rubber as part of this deal. All together its probably about a $500 value. Happy to answer ANY questions and provide additional pictures. Please don't bid unless you are ready to buy and have asked whatever questions you need answered. Shipping and inspection is at buyer's cost. No warranties expressed or implied. Sold as is. _The rims on the truck are Level 8s: http://www.ebay.com/itm/15x10-Black-Level-8-Tracker-Wheels-6x5-5-48-Lifted-HONDA-PASSPORT-/351615945619?hash=item51ddf18b93:g:EuMAAOSw5IJWgsP7&vxp=mtr _Per request, i've posted additional photos at the link below. I tried to capture as much of the undercarriage, wheel wells, fenders and interior as possible. if there's anything else you'd like to see, let me know. https://flic.kr/s/aHsktsKTRn _Received a few questions about the truck and forgot to post them automatically in the listing so i'm copying them here: _Question 1: Does it have any bondo or fiberglass repairs ( rockers ,wheel arches ,behind wheels etc) thanks _Answer 1: Hello, There is no bondo on the car other than the repair that was made to the left rear qtr and the bit that shows on the bottom edge of the rear hatch. I took photos of each area (i think). If not, let me know and I can get a close up for you. No bondo on the fenders or body otherwise. The truck is pretty solid with the exception of the few spots I mention in the ad. And although there are those couple of spots, I was pretty relieved to not see any shoddy rust hiding repairs. Its a good, honest truck. Also, just for perspective, the truck was owned by a family that used it lightly for many years and it was garaged. They didn t use it recreationally or rag it out. So it has normal wear and tear commensurate with that type of use. The guy who bought it from them bought it to improve it and sell it. So he replaced the rear hatch doors with ones that were repaired and resprayed and did some general upkeep. Then I bought it. So its really a solid vehicle. Not as nice as some of the really nice, garage queen examples you might find on ebay occasionally, but its leaps and bounds better than some of the rigs out there that look pretty but are mechanically a mess and are hiding a ton of rust issues. Hope this helps. _Question 2: Some photos show historic tags another shows a tag with a 4 expiration so does the cruiser have a tag so I can test drive? Also, will you deliver the car with a recent Maryland state inspection? I live in Richmond, VA so I will drive up and deal directly with you. Lastly, would trust driving the cruiser to Richmond? Thanks, John _Answer 2: Hello, The truck is registered historic as of late last year. The other tags I threw on it to drive it up from gaithersburg when I bought it. Had them on the truck for a week or so. I don t plan on getting it inspected but would welcome a prepurchase inspection if you wanted to do that. Would be happy to drop it off and pick it up at a shop of your choosing somewhere reasonably close to me. As to its reliability, i ve driven it daily (30 miles a day, minimum) and have driven it to frederick several times (90 miles round trip). Have also driven it to visit family in new jersey twice (200 miles each trip). I ve never had any reservations driving it anywhere, nor has it ever given me any indication that it wasn t mechanically capable of doing so. I wouldn t hesitate to drive it to richmond. That being said, I cant guarantee that something wont decide after 30 years to stop working. Im just confident in the truck. So much so that I sold my 2008 bmw that was my daily driver prior. _Question 3: Would you please send me any additional pictures you may have? Thank You! Sure, Are there any specific areas you'd like to see?Rusty rocker panel, under carriage, interior. Has this truck spent its life in Maryland? I m really worried about rust more than anything. _Answer 3Posted a link to about 70 additional photos. The car has been in Maryland but wasn't driven during winters for the majority of its life. Undercarriage is an nice as any that i've seen. And like i said, the rust is minimal. Its a really clean truck.
