Vehicle Detail
Selling my 2006 Suzuki VStrom 1000. Has about 38697 miles on it. Those miles will increase by about 30/day till it is sold (I ride daily to work). I'm the 3rd owner. I bought it in May. Registration is good thru April 28, 2016. I am selling because I just got selected for deployment and don't want the bike to sit for a year. It has: Cruise control Heated grips Hand guards Center Stand RAM mount 12-volt power outlet H4 upgraded headlight Sargent Seat Bar risers (up and back) Madstad windshield bracket Suzuki hardbags (saddlebags and trunk) TFI fuel module (I mapped it to eliminate the "chudder" common to VStrom 1000s) Maintenance that I have done: Oil change at 37K with Shell Rotella T 15w40 Chain cleaned and lubed every 200-250 miles (I use 80w gear lube. I keep the chain at 30mm slack) Changed fork oil at 35K and replaced fork oil seals Adjusted valves at 37K (shimmed all valves to max loose spec) Throttle Body adjustment at 37K Radiator Flushed and filled at 37K Front brake pads replaced at 35K New brake fluid at 35k front and rear New clutch fluid at 35k Cleaned and oiled K&N air filter at 35k Checked stator, regulator/rectifier, and rotor magnets. All in great order. Checked spark plugs - all fine Chain and sprockets checked - all fine. What it needs: New tires within about 1000-2000 miles The bad - a ding in the tank from a falling socket wrench (when I did the valves - fell right out of my shirt pocket). A few scratches from rocks in the front fender. Wear on frame by foot-pegs from boots (just wore thru black paint). This is a solid bike. It handles incredibly well. It is my second VStrom (I like them that much). When I return from deployment, I'll be buying another VStrom to replace it.
