RARE 1968 Mercury Montego MX390 convertible, sports car When was the last time that you saw a factory MX390 montego convertible, most are either 302 engines or few with a 351, hardly any with a 390 engine. Only about 3000 Montego's in total were built in 68, which is hardtop, convertible, 2 door and 4 door. Convertibles were only made for two years, 68 and 69. How many convertibles are left?, and even better still, how many true factory MX390 convertibles are out there? Also, most all these montego's are column shift, mine has a rare factory floor shift, with console and bucket seats. -engine-390, new-transmission, automatic-floor shift-console-power steering-power brakes-power top-new top-body is pretty much solid and rust free, with only rear quarters requiring work, some rust-frame is solid-original color-original special rims(chrome rims, the inserts are in the trunk-wood grain dash-the engine was done back in the 80's and since put away in a barn, where it has been for the last almost 30 plus years-the front bucket seats will need to be redone-there is zero miles on this engine-this is a S code car this is a true collectors car, probably the only one left in North America, here is your chance to own a true factory original classic.
