Vehicle Detail
CLEAN, completely California rust-free 1990 LandRover Range Rover Classic County Edition. The fourth year of the Classic in Short Wheelbase ( SWB) configuration which was sold in the U.S for 9 years, starting in 1987 with the first year of importation, through early 1995. The 1990 models mark the initial production numbers manufactured with an honest-to-goodness Antilock ABS brake system. Aside from that, all the traditional Range Rover styling and design continued on until 1995 ( the last year of the iconic Classic ) when they were discontinued and the SWB went on to become automotive history. This SWB is a solid California SWB Classic, residing here since new when sold in Southern California in 1990 until last year, when it moved to Northern California, where it resides now. Completely stock, and original SWB, with very low 133K original miles. It starts, idles and drives as expected. There is absolutely NO rust nor corrosion on this vehicle, as it would be expected from a California-lived RRC ( hard-pressed condition to find in any Classic beyond the Sierra mountains). BEWARE OF RUST BUCKETS EAST OF THE WEST COAST~! This SWB comes equipped with all the comforts, standard features and amenities of its time, along with factory Tow package, nice radial tires ( approximately 80% of tread left) mounted on a nice, clean set of the factory original allow wheels. NEVER altered or lifted. Recent complete brake work in front and rear, as well as extensive fuel-system reconditioning to include: * New fuel tank * New Fuel pump * New MAF ( airflow meter) * New fuel lines * New pressure regulator * New spark plug wires * New distributor cap * Spark plugs * Re-sealed axle hubs * Oil pressure sending unit * Oil service * Rblt. AC compressor * Coolant service In addition, there has also been required maintenance and previous service work within the last two years performed, to include: * New Radiator * New water pump * New upper & lower radiator hoses * Alternator * Catalytic converter * NITROCHARGER shocks front and rear * NEW front and rear springs * New steering damper * New ignition amplifier Stock 3.9L engine runs EXCELLENT. As it is well documented in all Land rover circles, the 3.9L was a vast improvement over the early 3.5 engines as it was more robust and had more torque as a result of engine redesigning to increase displacement to a more efficient, reliable motor. NO overheating issues, ticking nor any noises to contend with. 133K total miles, better than average for any Land Rover. Automatic transmission shifts well into all gears. Low and High transfer cases work fine. Four-wheel Power disc brakes, Power steering, Power windows and Power heated seats, Sliding sunroof and Power mirrors. Finish is VERY NICE considering this RRC is over twenty five years young ! Its desirable Forest Green finish ( more of a bottle green color) still shines surprisingly well for an unrestored Rangie. There is NO clearcoat flaking or damage to the finish on the roof, hood or filler panel areas, common on many Rovers, specially East Coast examples where the elements and salted roads have taken their toll on the body panels and undercarriage, a hindrance nearly impossible to repair! The original Sorrel Brown leather upholstery is in average condition and has held up well. Surprisingly, there are no cracks or tears on any of the leather in the seats. BOTH front seats are in very good condition, with no splits, tears or seam separation ( driver's bottom showed expected wear from age, thus I just had it nicely reupholstered). Headliner is attached fine all around. Overall, a very clean interior, door panels, factory carpeting and trunk area ( to include the always missing rear cargo cover). The photos show it very clearly. NON SMOKER vehicle. Original factory Land Rover carpeted mats still present. Solid unrestored 90' Range Rover County Classic. It's a truly solid, rust-free SWB, with very good miles and the good 3.9L engine. It runs very well with a strong, solid powertrain. Clean chassis, no tweaks and NO rust and still all-original interior. It will make a great traveler, off-roader or camping Rangie with some minor personal touches. I've been around Land Rovers for over 30 years, and have owned various models and vintages. Classics are the best investment for the money, specially rust-free SWBs. SERIOUS inquiries ONLY, please. Unlike the vast majority of Ebay sellers who simply sell what they do not know ( let alone car dealers!), I actually own a Land Rover ( I own an LWB, a 2010 Sport and two DIIs) and I am fairly familiar with all their quirks. Feel free to call me with questions at (650) 430-4660 PST. I have priced this Classic SWB fairly and way below-market to sell, as it is a nice unrestored example of a clean, rust-free RRC. A minty SWB would be way over $15K to start. This SWB Classic has a clear California title and currently registered in CA until the end of February 2016. In addition, it passed its latest stringent CA Emissions test with flying colors. I am also advertising this vehicle in other venues, and as such, I reserve the right to end this listing at any time, should a serious offer or a BUY-IT-NOW opportunity present itself. Range Rover Classics are getting harder and harder to find, specially in original, unaltered condition and in SWB configuration. They are nearly impossible to find without them being all rusted out, or having to pay a premium for a clean example. I shall be glad to assist coordinating shipping of this Range Rover anywhere nationwide or overseas, at the most economical shipping rate available. Please be aware, I do not control pick up or delivery times should you purchase it; that is pending weather conditions and shipping/ trucking delivery schedules. Of note: Do not calculate shipping cost based on the Ebay calculator. Shipping to just about anywhere on the East coast is less than $1000. Other parts of the U.S closer to California are considerably less, of course. I will do everything I can on my end to ensure and expedite delivery at the most financially sensible rate on the market. Should you be the winning bidder, I would like t receive payment within THREE business days, please. Payment can be made via cashier's check or certified funds. Personal, business or annuity checks may be utilized, but must clear funds first, prior to any transportation arrangements being made. If you have questions or would like to discuss other payment arrangements, be sure to contact me prior to placing a bid, please. An alternate method of payment can be done via bank wire transfer to my local CHASE Bank branch here in town. It is a very simple process, and it helps expedite delivery of the car. Upon receipt of payment, I will mail you the CA title and a Bill of sale to the car. Feel free to EM or call me with questions or serious inquiries, no later than 9 pm PST, please. Thank you all for your interest!
