Vehicle Detail
We have had this in our family since the mid 70's and was, until last month, not inspected since 1990 and stored until 2011 when I pulled out and began bringing back to life. Runs, shifts and sounds great and looks really cool. I will go into more detail tomorrow when I have the time on this triple matching numbers gem, so watch this listing for more pictures and information. There is no reserve other then the $12,500 it will start at, but if this bike is you, there is a $14,500 buy it now. More cosmetic work will be required to make perfect, like the seat cover and it could use a buffing on the tank where gas was faded the clear coat. Carbs are rebuilt and a new coil was installed. the back break pads were replaced and I have new ones for the front. The rear shocks are new and there will be extra parts that will go with the bike. It will need new tires soon as these same tires have been on this bike as long as I can remember. The mileage is really unknown because when my uncle obtained this bike, it didn't have a headlight or speedo. There is one now, but not true to the bike as far as I know. I will add more details in the morning. On Dec-11-15 at 09:38:45 PST, seller added the following information: Sorry for the delay. I need to clarify that I DO NOT have the seat, gas tank, exhaust pipes that were original to the bike. What you see in the pictures is what you get, plus some small parts that were saved, like the original coil and head light bulb. All the threads are good on the carbs, the bike always starts for me on the first kick, the battery needs to be replaced, the generator works the horn does not work, but I do have it stored away to go with the bike. I ride this bike about once a month or when the weather is nice. When it sits for an extended period of time on its side kick stand, it will have an oil smoke for 20 seconds or so. But when parked on the center stand it wont smoke at start up at all. My uncle put new rings on when I was 11, so 31 years ago, but I am 99.9% sure the pistons are of standard bore. I am a little north of Houston and can arrange this weekend for a ride and showing if you are near by. Contact me by phone or text if I am missing something that you have a question about. 713-444-7169. Thank you, David
