My father ordered the car from Koeppel Motors, Jamaica, New York, in January 1965 and took possession in April. The car has been in the family since new. The original engine runs smoothly and does not burn oil. Th torque flite 3-speed automatic transmission has been rebuilt. The only options my father ordered were bucket seats, AM radio and rear window defogger. Power steering and brakes were standard. There is no A/C, power windows or seats. My father only wanted a reliable, powerful road car with room for the family. The car is all-original with moldings, insignia, rear wheel skirts, wheel covers, headlight glass shields and original wheel changing jack. The original AM radio has been replaced with an AM/FM/cassette unit (the original non-working radio is included). Also the ignition has been replaced with an electronic one (the original ignition is included). Front bucket seats require re-upholstery and headliner sags (roof solid). Chassis solid; sheet metal rust minimal — such as small hole in driver's floor pan.Mechanically the car is in good condition, it has been maintained and safety inspected regularly to keep it on the road. The body has been maintained by spot repair and spot painting in places to maintain an overall appearance. Car has had its annual safety inspection in May 2015 and has current New York State historical license plates. I drive the car regularly and especially like to take a spin on the local highway to feel the power of the 340 horsepower engine when four barrels of the carburetor open up. And the car draws attention among onlookers wherever I go. You can restore the car to the extent you wish for all original parts are there, or if I were to keep it, I would put on seat covers, attach the rear wheel skirts and use it as a reliable, distinctive second car.
