Vehicle Detail
Super solid, 100% RUST-FREE 1995 Land Rover Range Rover Classic County Edition. The last year of the revised Classic in Long Wheelbase ( LWB) configuration which was made for only 3 years through early 1995, and the most sought-after model year, going up in value. It comes factory-equipped with the desirable CDL ( Central Differential-Lock) system. The 1995 model is the only year with factory Dual airbags, crush-can bumper stops and front & rear chrome bumpers. In addition, it still retains its original, fully-functional EAS system! Completely stock, and original LWB, right down to its original, fully-operational Electronic Air Suspension system ( EAS). This is a two-owner LWB that has lived in California all of its life. This LWB is part of a large family Estate in Piedmont, CA. The second owner never really drove it as he fell ill in 2008. It has been in storage at their residence until recently. Therefore, there is absolutely ZERO rust nor corrosion throughout the whole vehicle, as it would be expected from a California vehicle ( hard-pressed condition to find in any Classic beyond the Rocky mountains). There is NO corrosion ANYWHERE on this LWB. NOT in the undercarriage, not in the doors, hood, chassis, door sills, window frames, floors, bulkheads, quarter panels, tailgate nor in the rear window frame, the most common, troublesome area. This LWB comes equipped with all the comforts, standard features and amenities of its time, along with factory Tow package, MICHELIN Synchrone radial tires ( approximately 80% tread remaining) mounted on a nice, clean set of the desirable, optional 16" LWB Cyclone aluminium wheels. NEVER altered or lifted. It still resides here in Northern California. Stock 4.2L engine runs EXCELLENT, as it should with only 129K original miles. As it is well documented in all Land rover circles, the 4.2L was a vast improvement over the early 3.5 and 3.9L engines as it was more robust and had more torque as a result of a longer-stroked block and crank, with revised heads. No overheating issues to contend with. 129k original miles, way below average for any well-travelled Land Rover. Automatic transmission shifts well into all gears. Low and High transfer cases work fine. Four-wheel Power disc brakes, Power steering, Power windows and Power seats. The moonroof works. The factory AC system works. The central locking and the factory alarm also work. Finish is the desirable Roman Bronze color. It is its original factory finish, but the clearcoat has aged, as pictured. As it is, it remains a cosmetic issue, hence the very modest opening bid. 95' LWBs are impossible to find in any sort of decent mechanical shape and with NO RUST below $10K for a fixer-upper. Let alone one with its original, functional Air suspension. There just aren't ANY 1995s on the market at this price. Period. I had planned to do a very mild refinish, but my plans have changed and I am going to utilize my funds to finish my 109 LWB. If it does not successfully sell in this listing, I will put it in storage until the spring, do a mild cosmetic refurbish and then sell it in the Summer at top dollar. This is an opportunity to find and all-original 95' for a modest asking price, and below market. NO rust issues on ANY areas, common on many Rovers, specially mid-west and most East Coast examples where the elements and salted roads have taken their toll on the body and undercarriages, a nearly-impossible condition to repair ! The original Sorrel Brown leather upholstery is in average condition and has held up well. There are no cracks or tears on the seats. The dash is MINT. The headliner has held up surprisingly well, with the area towards the rear-speaker section where it has sagged some. My local upholsterer charges $299 to expertly refinish it from end to end, but in my opinion, it still looks fine for daily use ( a very common ailment on all Land Rovers). Clean interior, door panels, factory carpeting and trunk area. NON SMOKER vehicle always. Solid unrestored 95' Range Rover County Classic. Original, completely rust free LWB. The only year of the desirable soft-dash and dual airbag Classic. All stock and original down to its operational Air suspension ( EAS) system, NOT converted to coil springs. Low original miles. Chrome bumpers front and rear. Brushguard and Tailight guards. The EAS starts, runs and cycles as expected; it functions flawlessly. The 4.2L runs SUPER. Temp steady at 1/3 consistently. Transmission and transfer case and differentials shift well and with no chatter or axle noises. It has nice HELLA headlights on it, with no chips. Both HELLA 520 lower auxiliaries also work and are not damaged. PERFECT rear window frame and all glass throughout. What does NOT work: nothing. The moonroof slides up and down and back and forth; BOTH Power heated seats work in all functions. All FOUR Power windows work; even the A/C system works nice and cold. BOTH Power mirrors work; the Central locking works; the factory Stereo works. I do not know about the Cruise control because I have not driven it long distances. It originally had an issue with titling about 8 years ago. The LWB came through BayCities dealer auction at that time as a dealer trade-in from BMC ( now Land Rover of San Francisco) with a clear CA title with a Bank holding a note; the buyer could not get it properly titled initially because the now defunct car dealer that purchased it and sold it would not sign off on the existing lien. Rather than go through legal hassles, the old title was turned in, salvaged and retitled once again in CA. Thus it shows as such. This is the only reason why it is priced below market. That being said, this car has NEVER been in an accident. EVER. I WELCOME any and all inspections by serious parties. This is a super-running 95' Soft-dash, fairly priced to allow ample room for your own tlc or drive it as it is. A totally solid, COMPLETELY RUST FREE LWB, and the most desirable year to have, with: * Super rare FUNCTIONAL EAS * Chrome bumpers front and rear * Crush-can bumper stops * Factory brushguard * One-year-only soft dash * Dual Airbags * Moonroof * HELLA driving lights * All power accessories working * Oil Just serviced w/ MAHLE filter & SHELL Rotella 15W40 Transfer case and differentials work fine in Low and High gearing. Strong, solid powertrain. Clean chassis, no tweaks, ZERO rust and original interior. CA title. It will make a great traveler, off-roader or camping Rangie with some minor cosmetic tlc. TONS of room that only the LWB offers. I've been around Land Rovers for over 30 years, so no games, please. SERIOUS inquiries ONLY. I have priced it more than fairly and with ample room for someone's personal touch. A minty LWB would be way over $20K. The modest opening bid of this 95' barely reflects nowhere near that ! I am also advertising this vehicle in other venues, and as such, I reserve the right to end this listing at any time, should a serious offer present itself. Range Rover Classics are getting harder and harder to find, specially in original, unaltered condition and in LWB configuration.
