Vehicle Detail

All the Good Stuff: This is a beautiful car that is in need of someone finishing the restoration. The car is totally complete with many (many) extra parts. There is a new top and new carpet set ready for installation. The title is clear and currently registered in California. Many new parts. Body has absolutely no rust. Under carriage and wheel wells sealed with quality sprayed on undercoating. Chrome is flawless. New OEM door panels. New tires. Engine runs excellent with two (2) SU side-draft carbs (probably need tuning). Odometer shows 65,000 miles, but engine is strong with no leaks, smoke or engine knocks (see video). Four speed manual transmission (no overdrive). Recent new stock blue paint job (some minor chips and dings described later). Floor panels and trunk steel in excellent shape. Photos show details to support description. The car is beautiful and can be fully completed with not much effort and not much additional expense.Areas of Concern: 1. The transmission functions well, but there is a noise that sounds like the throw-out bearing needs replacement. Does not impact shifting or performance, but will need attention. 2. The repaint job is a beautiful original color, but has two (2) bubbles that may flake over time. They are not very noticeable, but are there none-the-less. There are also several small chips on several corners exposed to being nicked by tools or equipment. There is one very small dent behind the driver door where I dropped a tool that hit the body. All of these are shown in the pictures (paint gets an 8 out of 10). 3. Not really an area of concern, but the wood dash and control panel for dash knobs are loose because of work being done under the dash Several switches need to be replaced. All the components (cables knobs, etc are all there, plus at least 10 extra knobs for the dash (e.g., choke, light reostat, etc). 4. The engine start key assembly needs to be reinstalled. There are two (2) extra rubber mount assemblies for the key. It just needs to be reinstalledI spent as much on the areas of concern as the good stuff, but the good far outweighs the concerns. The pictures tell the story better than I can. I would love to finish this car, but I have a '58 TR3 and five other cars to restore, so something has to give. Got the car for my wife, but without power steering, I think it is too much for her to handle. Someone will be very happy with this purchase and I would love to see it completed. Happy shopping!
