Here is a totally original untouched 1959 Ford Retractable that just came out of a 40 year sleep. The car ha been stored in a garage since 1972 and the owners bought it in 1964. It is almost totally rust free with no holes or major rust. I have buffed out the paint and opened the top manually to see the inside. I have not started the car but It should be no problem. I also have not worked the top. The car was given a cheaper repaint sometime in its early life but still looks decent with minor scratches and dings from use. The rear seat is excellent and only the front will need repair. Some of the chrome has dents. The headliner has come unglued and should be an easy fit. I am pretty sure the mileage has turned over. What should be done? Start it and enjoy as is since they are only original once. Or do a show restoration since you have an excellent base to start.
