Vehicle Detail

This Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe is in remarkably good condition for its age. It is a 3-owner car and has had the same owner for the last 15 years. As with most cars of this vintage it has undergone a few changes over the years but it is in mostly original condition and largely unmolested. Because it has been stored indoors most of its life and currently only driven during fair whether the body and frame are in great condition. It is 95% rust-free. It was originally blue-green metalic, but owes its current off-white tan color is the result of a repaint in the 1970's. The floors, trunk & frame rails are all very solid. The only rust through is small area in quarter panels and radiator core support which could be repaired without significant effort. All the glass is in great condition and all trim and body molding an trim is present with the exception of the fuel door & driver side scoop molding. Mechanically the car is a solid 8 out of 10 for its age. The engine, transmission, and rear end are all original to the car. The engine has been upgraded with a later model intake and carburetor, as well as 80s-era electronic ignition. It still features the factory exhaust manifolds and factory style single Y-pipe exhaust. There are no oil leaks, no engine noise, and no mechanical issues at all. It runs good, idles smooth, handles great, and is frequently driven on nice days and for exhibition at local events (mileage will increase slightly). The interior is completely original including the factory bucket seats and console. The vinyl is soft and not cracked. There are a few areas of seam separation which could benefit from restitching. The carpet is in fair condition, showing some wear and fading from age, but still very presentable. The headliner is sound, but has two small mouse holes near the visors. All gauges and warning lights function except the fuel gauge. The car retains its original AM radio which functions intermittently. The following new parts have been recently installed: Fuel pumpFuel tankFront brake shoesFront brake wheel cylindersFront brake hosesVoltage regulator As noted this car is currently being driven recreationally so mileage will continue to go up. Feel free to contact with any questions. The car is also for sale locally so auction may end at any time. Buyer will be responsible for all shipping arrangements but we'll be glad to assist shipper with loading, etc.
