Vehicle Detail
Thank you for your interest. You are looking at a very clean, original example of the world-renowned Honda Transalp adventure tourer. Although only available in the US in 1989 and 1990, the Transalp has been in continual production and tremendously popular throughout the rest of the world (particularly in Europe where its nimbleness is ideal for Alpine mountain riding). It has a strong following of enthusiasts here in the U.S. and there remains plenty of support and parts/accessory availability for these machines. The time-proven liquid-cooled Honda V-twin (in 600cc form here) is tremendously smooth, responsive and reliable. The engine starts almost instantaneously the moment the starter button is pressed--no wearing out the starter motor on this one! This wonderful engine is mated to a slick-shifting five-speed transmission. This particular bike has been meticulously and lovingly maintained over the years and always ridden responsibly by sequential owners who each have had a passion for these machines and a desire to preserve them. The bike runs flawlessly and handles beautifully--a pure delight on back roads yet comfortable enough for all-day highway riding, even when riding two-up. The bike has a slightly taller-than-stock windscreen to provide the rider with sufficient wind protection. The original OEM shield is included in the sale. Also fitted to the bike are AME heated grips (each individually controllable). Original grips have been preserved and are included in the sale. Bike comes with a handful of spare items including new brake pads and shoes, spare CDI, set of used turn signals, etc. Because the bike is carefully maintained, there is a relatively fresh battery as well as chain and sprockets. Tires are Avon Distenzia dualsport tires (more street-oriented tread, but capable for unpaved/hard-pack roads) and show minimal wear. As of 2015, the bike is eligible for antique plates and is currently registered and titled in Pennsylvania as such. NOTE: This bike is being offered for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time (thus why I'm offering the "buy now" option to give everyone a fair opportunity).
