Vehicle Detail

This Honda is reliable. I pulled into my parking space; a half hour later I went to drive away but it wouldn't start. The battery is good. I am told that most likely it is a bad distributor which would cost about $400 to get it back on the road. It's time to sell it because I already got another car, but it is reliable and fun to drive and I will miss it. With 219,000 miles on the odometer, it acts like it could go for another 200,000, but it does have some old age issues to consider. First, it slowly but surely leaks and/or burns oil. It doesn't leave a puddle of oil or burn smoke out the exhaust pipe when you start it, but it needs to be filled with oil sooner than it should. There are signs of oil leak on part of the head gasket, I think, I'm not a mechanic but I know to look at the head gasket for leakage and there is some black oil stain there. Also, I understand that small amounts of oil can be burned in the combustion chambers in the cylinders in a car as used as this one is, even though you can't see smoke coming out of the exhaust. To determine the exact problem and fix it would involve taking to the garage--I'm ready to part with it. Second, the windshield is cracked in three places that link up, should be replaced. The other problems are minor in my opinion but may not be for you: the speedometer and odometer doesn't work, the muffler or tailpipe must be getting rusted since the car is starting to sound kind of loud compared to the purring like a kitten all these years; some of the plastic of the undercarriage of the car which protects the engine from rain and snow has been damaged and I had to wire it back in place. If the distributor or whatever the problem is that it won't start was fixed the car would go for a long time I say this with confidence. I would drive across the country in it. The good things about it: good tires, good heater and AC, good radio/cd player and speakers, sun roof! all turn signals and all lights and backup lights work, gear shift and sporty little coupe are fun to drive, body color is white and is clean with only has a nick from a runaway shopping cart bumping into it. This car can provide cheap reliable transportation for a while longer, but the buyer has to buy it with their own insurance and get registration for it. Tow truck necessary to come get it.
