1987 Mercury Cougar XR-7 This car is a very original, strait, unmolested car with excellent paint. There is no rust at all on this car, including the undersides of the doors and trunklid, which is where most start to rust. This car was painted about five years ago due to the clear coat peeling, and still looks excellent, without a scratch or dent anywhere. The interior is also very nice with the exception of a cracked dash from the sun which is common to all these cars. I do have the original ten hole wheels with the specific cougar centers that the XR-7's came with. She starts right up, runs very strong, and has had some recent work done to it. I have replaced the cooling system with a new water pump, thermostat, and radiator. I also just replaced the original nylon geared timing chain with a new set of steel gears. This car has been in storage for a couple of years. There are a couple of issues that will still need attention. The transmission is not shifting into overdrive and it has a small exhaust leak. You can drive this locally or onto a trailer as the tranny will shift fine in all gears but overdrive. Vehicle is sold "as is". Please e-mail with any questions and I will get back to you asap.
