Vehicle Detail

DESCRIPTION: I am heartbroken to sell this gem, but I have other projects I need to complete.Mileage on the speedometer is only 24,112 and I'm sure it's original. I bought this car about 2 years ago and started repairing and mild restoration. I had this car running and driving just after I first got it. Brought it home an put a battery in it and with a little coaxing it fired up. A previous owner tried to coat the interior of the fuel tank improperly and clogged the fuel system. I removed the tank cleaned it out and replaced the in-tank fuel pump and strainer. cleared the fuel lines. Now waiting for a replacement high pressure fuel pump. I also removed previous owners make-shift wiring, and replaced the turn signal switch and steering wheel horn contacts. This car is pretty much all original. The exhaust system is new, even the dash clock works. The floors and frame are in nice shape very little rust (surface only) The interior is in great shape seats except for the carpet, carpet need replace and needs replacement visor mounts. Engine will not start due to HP fuel pump (waiting for parts). Other than the HP fuel pump, engine is strong. The paint is original and it has some scratches and a few spots of (white) over spray. In the process of cleaning that up. The areas I have done come up nice. Please note the surface rust at the taillights in the listing photos. This is an all original Cosworth Vega #441 Many extra parts can come with it including a brand new gold turned dash bezel. THIS CAR HAS A CLEAR TITLE. On Sep-22-15 at 05:13:41 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE (09/22/2015): 1) Please note the car does need new tires. The RR tire is tubed and all tires have some sidewall cracking, so I would not trust them for long term highway driving. 2) Received an eMail today about the HP Fuel Pump: "Thank you for your order confirmation number 020858771. Part number 555-159009 is currently out of stock and has an estimated ship date of 10/21/2015." (The pump is included with the car whenever it arrives). 3) The reserve price is for the car including the new dash bezel (bezel value $225.00). Reserve price plus $1,000 will include ALL parts, panels, and spares (a ~$2,000+ estimated separate value). On Sep-25-15 at 04:40:39 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE (09/25/2015): The fuel pump has arrived. Since original replacement EFI Pumps are not available. I was able to get a correctly sized MSD brand EFI HP Fuel pump replacement. I hope to install it in the next few days.On Sep-25-15 at 04:53:31 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE #2 (09/25/2015): I have had some questions about the wiring issue: Here is the summary for all to consider: From my investigation I can only surmise that a previous owner had an issue that caused moisture inside the car. The horn button corroded and shorted out. I suspect, in order to stop the horn from blaring, the owner disconnected the the wire at the horn. The horn relay never disengaged and overheated and melted onto the carpeting. The short circuit also caused electrical burns to the horn contacts in the turn signal switch. The owner cut out the section of carpet in the drivers foot well area and ran a separate set of wires from the battery to a separate horn button then to the horn.I replaced the horn relay and turn signal switch and repaired the horn contactor in the steering wheel. I removed all the previous owners wiring and horn button. I also replaced the spade connector at the horn itself. The mileage is what it is, I included a photo of the odometer. The back hatch carpet and rear seat back carpet is faded from sun exposure. The seats themselves are in very good condition.
