Running and driving west coast 280C with original color scheme and CHROME BUMPERS! Purchased new by a Beverly Hills Leasing agency, and maintained on Wilshire Blvd. this car began life quite pampered and has been well preserved over the years. It is a Pacific Coast car, with it's life documented as spent between L.A. & Washington state. Designed by Citroen chief designer Paul Bracq, this coupe was not the hit his convertible SL series was. Mr. Bracq still flies to California for our annual Monterey Car Week, and is a judge. The 280C asking price in 73 was 11,500. when the Eldorado and Mark IV hovered around 8000. Even with gasoline a concern that year, it could not compete with the hard to park, 9mpg Americans. Not a rust bucket as it would be in mid-west or east. There are a few little bubbles and spots but one really has to search. No holes or cancer seen, and floors are great. Original carpet. All power windows work, wipers, fog lamps, lighter, CLOCK!, glove box light, rear passenger light, all of this still works fine! Cozy wings work perfect. Leave it to the Germans and mild central coast vineyard climate, a car can last and last. What have we had done to it this year? New: Tires, plugs, brake booster assist, master cylinder, brake lines, brake shoes and rotors, fuel filter, computer module, coil, wiper blades, battery. Not a car to sit idle, this is a dbl. overhead cam inline 6 cylinder which truly likes to be driven and is happy in town or on freeways, but happiest going 30-80mph. It is a cheap to insure, stable investment. Sought after because the 280C's after it have big ugly rubber bumpers much like MG & Triumph were forced to switch to simultaneously.
