Rare 1955 3100 First Series 5-Window Chevrolet Pickup Truck for sale. In 1955, Chevy decided to revamp its pickup line, but it was not prepared to do so by the end of 1954. So, from 01-01-1955 to 03-27-1955, it sold 1954 Chevy Pickups stamped with a 1955 VIN Number. No one know how many of these pickups were sold, but it could not have been many, since everyone was interested in waiting for the totally revamped new Chevy Pickup series. This is an all original, survivor, 1955 Chevy First Series 5-Window Pickup Truck, originally from Southern California. No bondo, all steel is in great shape. All the normal "bad" spots are solid, you can stand on the running boards all day long. Brand new tires and rims (chrome baby moons) are shown in some of the photos. What I know: This pickup was purchased in August of 1955 from a Souther California Chevrolet dealer, and it became a ranch truck for the next 55 years. In approximately 2010, it was purchased and transported to Arizona. The speedometer/odometer does not work, it needs a new cable. The gas gauge does not work. The following are the substantial changes that have been performed on the truck: Changed from 6 volt to 12 volt; glass fuel filter replaced with in-line plastic fuel filter; new headers; new tires and rims. As far as I know, all other parts and pieces are completely original. This truck is driven often, and it could be driven daily. It has new tires, recent oil change, and has been garaged since being painted. It has 4 gears which includes a "granny gear." It comes with a 1955 Arizona license plate, not the one shown in the photos. It is the 3100 series with a 235 cu/in engine. The photos speak for themselves.
