Vehicle Detail

So for a brief initial synopsis - this 855R is about as clean as you can possibly find now and they're getting rarer and rarer every year. This one has also received an M56 manual swap. Now I imagine mostly Volvo enthusiasts are reading this but regardless I'll explain that this was not an option here in the US for any of the sought after 1995-1997 'R' cars and is somewhat the holy grail of upgrade/mods for this vehicle. Sure, you can swap turbos, you can program your ECU, you can improve the suspension...but few have actually had a proper swap done. And not any of those other upgrades changes the dynamic of the car as wholly as the manual swap. Trust me, I've had over 8 turbo Volvos (including 3 other 'R' cars in varying stages of modifications). I've personally only known of one other wagon with this swap in my 8 years of tinkering with Volvos (not saying there aren't more, but none that I know about). So essentially, what you have here is one of the cleanest 850R's in the US, a wagon (rarer) and a seldom performed manual swap (even rarer). It's a damn nice car. Now for a little of the history - I have owned the car for right at one year and put approx 7,000 miles on it in that time. Over half of these were taken up by approximately 10 trips to Austin and a trip out to Florida. So it's not like the car just sat there gathering dust and disuse gremlins, yet it also wasn't ran roughshod through city streets. At the time I bought the car, I was planning as using it as a light use daily driver, seeing maybe 10,000 a year. But as luck would have it, my job gave me a company car about a month after purchasing but I didn't want to get rid of it so I sold a couple of toys and kept it as my tripper because of how fun it was on the open road. Now here we are a year into this type of use and it just seems silly to me. The car deserves to be driven a little more and I just don't have the use for it. I'd rather just have the money to go towards my graduate school debt or down payment for a home. The previous owner I bought it from is an active user on the Swedespeed forums and I begged the car out from under him despite him not actively selling. He sold the car to me as he had been dabbling with the idea of dipping his toe into the BMW pool. After a few months he ended up selling the M3 he had picked up after selling me his car (he just couldn't get into it) and was back at it with another Volvo. He recently took a 2001 V70 T5 that had a dead auto trans and swapped a manual in (which is a fairly more technical swap than mine due to the electronics), worked with a tuner to get the right software going and rebuilt the suspension with the same exact components he used for mine. My reason in telling you this is....the guy knows what he is doing. So here is what all had been done to the car before I bought it and since I've had it. The previous owner mentioned above bought the car about four years ago with approx. 126k and a blown headgasket. He had the head decked and new valve seals installed at a local machine shop. Bottom end (cylinder walls) were in good shape so nothing was needed there. A new timing belt kit, water pump, etc., installed at that time. About three years ago, approx 30k miles ago, he did the M56 manual trans swap and installed a new euro 850R clutch kit. Within the past two years, approx 20k miles, the following has been done with all OEM, or genuine Volvo parts, unless otherwise listed: Performance:- KONI FSD/Eibach Pro Kit suspension- C70 chassis brace- OBX 3" downpipe, custom catless 3" midpipe to stock catback exhaust- ARD manual software (not an actual performance tune, just manual software)- ARD TCV- IPD RIP kit- IPD CBV- K&N panel filter Maintenance:- Continental DWS tires- Control arms- Sway bar end links- Front and rear cam seals- Continental timing belt kit- ALL motor mounts (poly upper and IPD lower trans torque)- ALL cooling system hoses- Radiator- Heater core- A/C condenser- Rear brakes- Left front wheel bearing/hub- Left drive shaft- TPS sensor- MAF sensor- Fuel pump relay- Fuel injection relay- Gas tank vent hoses- Camshaft position sensor- Front O2 sensor (rear has spacer due to no cat)- Right tie rod assembly- All rubber brake hoses- The previous owner and I have only run 10W40 Castrol synthetic every 3k, and use either Volvo, Bosch or MANN oil filters. Tires rotated and balanced every oil change. - Other random things like bulbs and fuses and just general upkeep for an enthusiast-owned vehicle Audio:- Bluetooth audio streaming module (Wiiki Tech from eBay) that's hidden and plugged into back of stock head unit's CD change port (pairs every time and works perfectly for hands-free calling as well)- (2) Brand new Pioneer TS-A878 speakers for dash- (4) Brand new Kicker DS525 speakers (one for each door) The wagon's overall condition is as such - Exterior:- Zero dents and no noticeable dings that I can find- A few light scratches on driver's door I can't even pick up with my camera to show you- Couple of small nicks in back bumper- Brand new OEM front R bumper was installed when PO bought car and has zero cracks with some minor underside scuffing that you would pretty much only know is there if you bent over and felt- Recently dyed bumpers and side trim back to a rich black Interior - Slight wear on driver seat bolster (no holes or rips)- Front passenger seat and back seats are basically immaculate- Rear cargo is without stains and all panels are perfect- Recently fixed famous Volvo "tailgate rattle" by adjusting the locking plate so interior is about as squeak free as you can get- Zero dash movement or play and minimal 'squeak'- Cruise control, sunroof and windows all work perfectly I'm not going to say the car is perfect, cause it's not. But it's about as close as you can get these days. I've tried to mention every single little quibbly thing I could think of. I also have this car for sale locally and believe it or not, the previous owner may or may not speak back up for the before the auction closes. He made me promise when he sold the car to me I'd give him first dibs if I decided to step away and I have. Even after fixing up his 2001, he still wants back into this one, but as these things go, significant others usually want one out the door before another can come in. We had discussed trying to make this happen but unfortunately our timelines aren't really meshing up. But I like to be straight up at all times in matters of cars. I also have a factory white, matching rear hatch spoiler (you will need to purchase a mounting kit), charcoal rear cargo cover, cam & crank locking tools, IPD cam adjustment tool and 4 extra Volans (only one with a prominent bend, all could use refinish to some degree) that are available to purchase separately. If we work out a price for these additional parts as well I can just toss them in the back when you ship. In summation, this is a badass, rare, car that provides a ton of utility but also absolutely moves when you want it to. Oh yeah, did I mention I have receipts for pretty much every single part I've listed?
